Hey DMB what might those crazy deals be? I'm looking to upgrade (probably to a LG 9800) and the wait is killing me!! Has anyone heard what black friday might have instore?

Do the upgrade now and request a price protection adjustment after the sale but within 15 days. This way you can actually get the phone, not wait in the crazy line, and have it sooner. You'll get credited down to the promo price.

Now if the promo is free stuff with the phone... you might be out of luck unless you want to go thru doing a return/repurchase.

There is a price protection policy in the west for 15 days. Just don't send in any rebates until after that period ends or you won't be able to return the phone if needed.

There are no big rebates coming out, I already have the new rebates.

True...I don't have ours either. My VZW rep cannot even get a listing of the new rebates.

Go into Info Center, click "Equiptment" tab, then click "current rebate matrix", they have been there for week or so now, your Rep mush be behind the times.

No, they are the new rebates, they run from 11/28-1/16, it is under "Rebates" then it says "Current Rebate Matrix" and it has the yellow "updated" icon next to it.

Actually I cant say for sure, off the top of my head I dont know what the 9800 rebate currently is.

Well right now i can get it for $199 from vzw website w/ my $100 new every 2 year credit, i think its a $50 online rebate. They have it orginally at $349.

I would wait, however I dont want to give too much away. Lets just say you might save an extra couple of bucks with the new rebate

There also might be an exceptional deal on another phone from the 24th-27th. Just check on Friday, you wont be dissapointed, but its not the 9800.

Any hint as to what phone it may be? I'm not completely sold on the 9800, so if its something very close i could b easily swayed if its a quality phone.

hmmm... well i was looking at the 950 previously, but was rather put off by the "mail in rebate".

glad to hear you backing it as a very good phone.

I have it and I have had no problems with it at all, I have even stored about 50 MP3s on a 512 card and even have a copmplete DVD Rip on it.

the 950 will still havea mail in rebate but the starting price will be a little lower for those couple of days, it might even come with something "extra".

Of course this is all still just "rumor" at this point and is always subject to change, but im sure about what I mentioned on the 9800.

your a little off with the 950 price, from what I have heard it should be around $150-$100(rebate)=$50 for new act. MINUS your NE2 so free to you.

But this is jsut rumor, but I have heard the same price from another market too.

I was looking at adding on one of those as an xmas gift if/when i upgrade phones, so "2 birds for one stone" may make me a samsung believer.

Yeah, not going to be wireless but the Jabra is still a kick butt handsfree.

I've heard the Jabra's are the best on the market so far. I think if i get that deal, i might still ask for a wireless as an x'mas gift, and just have 2! ha ha

I have the Jabra BT 250v, great bluetooth headset. That and the Plantronics Voyager are the best I've used. I highly recommend either one. 🙂

Razr looks fantastic. But i'm not willing to fork out the price i have been hearing on here and on other sites.

Unless it hits the market $200 less than i have seen people on her "speculate" then the Razr is out of my range!

I really dont see the Razor launching at the $499 people are talking about, I think it will probably come out at $299 and I know for sure there is a $100 rebate on it.

I really havent heard much on pricing for it except for this site which is only right about 25% of the time, $299 is just my guess but I may be wrong.

verizon only gives their rebates to direct stores and exclusive agents, best buy, radio shack and stores that carry multiple carries are not eligible for the verizon rebates.

But if the direct stores don't even have the nokia yet, what good is the rebate?

it is no good, a lot of time radio shack, bestbuy will have their own reabtes going on, but they are not the same as you get through verizon, sometimes they are better, sometimes they are not.

they have their own rebate structure, they are generally always cheaper

I know the 9800 vs. the 950 are 2 different animals so to speak, but depending on what your looking for the phone to do, the 950/970 is a good alternative IF the qwerty keyboard isn't a must have. (if you don't do a ton of text messaging/IM'ing basically)

I'm a bit of a gadget person, i want the newest and coolest technology, especially knowing i'm probably going to have it for a couple years. I really like the 9800 and all its capabilities, but i'm not certain i "need" the qwerty keyboard at this point, so i may back off and just get something w/ most of the same capabilities (ie the 950/970 or LG 8100 even)
