ive been with verizon for 3 years and i love the service but lately ive been looking at nextel. now i KNOW this would be a dumb move to go from verizon to nextel. 1 because the coverage is way less, 2, because my family is on verizon, 3, most of my friends are on verizon...

but the phones on nextel are so cool!! i love the i930. that phone rocks! they also have unlimited txting for 15 bucks....please someone talk to me and give me more reasons why i shouldnt switch over!

I think you already spelled it out for yourself.

1. VZW coverage is better
2. Your family is on VZW
3. Your friends are on VZW

If you don't know people on Sprint/Nextell to be able to use the push-to-talk and you don't feel like calling everyone and telling them to call you back so you can utilize the free incoming minutes then you really are just going to have a phone you like but can't use much.

Think about this, What good is a nice phone, with no coverge? or coverage issues? I would wait it out with verizon, plus its cheaper, you wouldnt use all ur minutes just talkingto friends and family. so stay with verizon.

The Nextel side of Sprint is not competitive in their share plans. Unless you own a business and PTT is a factor, stay with VZW...

It's weird but I too have been looking at Nextel. Here in the mid-west nextel has really good coverage and reception. In my case my school district has nextel, plus I would have the option my nights starting at 6pm instead of 9pm when most people are home or in bed. With that it wouldn't matter if your friends and family have verizon, your nights start at 6, so your minutes are free!!

Nextel phones are cool? Lol. In what land? If you want cool phones check out sprint. Otherwise, stick with verizon because u know many people who have it and they have a great network.

this sounds like another one of those "tell me why my vzw phone which i know is better is really better" man these threads are gettin old 😡 😡

VZW IS BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in calling, nice coverage (even in places where u dont need it), nice phones (yea they lock the features but that's what phonscoop and all of us "phonegeeking happy to crack a code" members are for, and 4 of 5 star customer service (they can get rude). (just be happy you don't have to call COOS (store rep customer service) like i do.

nextel ptt is cool but u have to know a lot of business men, friends or drug dealers: (boost mobile),
free incoming calls, (i know someone that does that calling and telling the person to call them back) they have the 500 min...
