Well, I just hooked up my advance 6256i yesterday. So far, I really like it. I haven't done anything other than just talk on it, but the sound quality is excellent. I plan to get a Bluetooth earpiece in the next week or two, but I want to try some out first, probably at a Best Buy or Circuit City.

Your NE2 date is Gordon Lightfoot's 67th birthday. Very auspicious!!!

Umm..I dunno.
What's wrong with Nokia?

I'm personally looking forward to the
Nokia 6236i. I like how its sleek, small...and simple. 🙂 I'd LOVE to get my hands on that Nokia 6265, but I don't see that coming out for a long time, and even longer for Verizon.

You got a Noke 6256i early? Da-yum, you got connections.

Can you say anythin' 'bout the reception, battery life, screen, speakerphone, etc.? An' does it use the Nokia UI o' the Verizon one?

As soon as I have some time to mess with it, I will spew forth with my analysis. I simply haven't had time to check out all the details...what with work, Hallowe'en yesterday, and just other stuff, like publicity for my house concert series. Give me a little time, and I'll be happy to impart whatever I find. Like I said before, so far, I like it!

I get a new phone at the end of this month. I currently have a freakin audiovox 8910 because i knew NOTHING about phones before I started working w/vzw. I get more complaints about this phone than any other phone. I take really good care of my equip. and this phone turns off by itself all the time. Needless to say, ANY phone would be better than the one I have now.

No, what draws me to the Sammy a970 is the 2.0 megapixel camera that has optical zoom. I love the idea of being able to zoom in on pictures with my phone and not sacrifice picture quality.

Current phones:
Me: Startac 7868W, Motorola V60s (retired, it has some problems)
Wife: LG VX3100

My NE2 was up end of October, wifes was up in September. I'm holding out for the Nokia 6256i for my NE2. The wife will get whatever she wants, she just wants a phone that works, doesn't care about much except long battery life.

We're on the family plan, and we're told before we switched that we are both still eligible for NE2 replacement phones, but at one point I called to check on the date for her and was told that only the primary line is eligible. If that's the case, then we're going to raise hell b/c we were told otherwise and would not have switched to the family plan until after her NE2 was up.

Can't wait for that 6256i tho -...

The requirements for ne2 is that you are on a price plan of 39.99 or higher for 2 years or longer. Your wife's line is 9.99 or 20.00 max. She is not eligible for ne2. She can get 2 yr promotional pricing w/a 2 yr agreement.

Hrm well we were definitely told before we made the switch that switching to the family plan will not affect our NE2 eligibility for either line. Don't know if that was just an uninformed rep (possible) or they were just saying that to get us to switch (also possible) Either way I'm not too pleased. Perhaps they can "split" my NE2 to give her a $50 and me a $50 credit (altho it ends up the same as a $100 credit for me I suppose). Regardless, I still want...

Your wife will NOT be eligible for NE2. I just went through this with trying to figure out whether I should put my wife and I on a family share plan.

The fact that my wife would not be eligible for NE2 if I did it made me keep us as individual accounts.

I was very sceptical of the 9800. I got one in for a customer though and played around with it. I think it has real merit. I just wonder the long term questions such as derability, bugs, etc. But time will tell there. It is not a phone for me, but I see where it definitely fits a niche
