I'm leaning towards the samsung a530s even though i'm scared of both not having analog. I like the battery life of the lg better and have always been an LG phone guy, but i'm thinking of trying the samsung based on great reviews here. anyone have some insight? thanks!

I don't think not having analog is all that much of a problem unless you're consistently in a rural area. The gold scha530 ships with an extended life battery in addition to the standard. At least here a CC it does. ;) Both are supposed to be excellent phones.

I would go with the samsung a530 also, but over here at my CC, we don't have the gold a530 with the extra battery anymore, but we now have the silver a530. The good thing about the new silver one is, that it doesn't look so girlyish, the bad thing.... you don't get the extended battery.

agreeing the silver is the only way to go i still can't decide if it's still to girly to go for. that along with speaker phone are holding me back, and will probably push me to the lg(which isn't the least girly either)

if i buy the samsung and renew service on line it's like 70 bucks, i can sell that on ebay for about 200 and then buy an lg for 150 on ebay, making me 50 bucks or basically meaning the lg cost me 20. would i still get "service" from verizon if my phone broke...does verizon even offer service from techs if you don't have insurance?

The silver phone is hella cute, it's a chick magnet. The sub LCD is cute, and compact. Fits great in your make up bag. Unlike the Motorola phones it doesn't chip your nails trying to open it one handed. Make your girlfriend happy, or find a woman, go for the Sam A530. The Sam A530's have been out a while and at least in Cali we haven't heard of too many issues with them. Lately the newer LGs, the 4400 and the 6000 are having some issues. The 6000 gets stuck in car kit mode and having to be FRU'd/REX'd out at the stores, and the 4400's keep freezing. All that's needed is a reset on the latter problem, but it has been causing a lot of calls in lately.

lol yes, I'm female. The 4500 seems a lil butch... The A530 is kinda perky and cute. I have only spoken to 4 people with the 4500 model in about a month. 3 called in with the phone freezing, but all said they like it.

i had both, and i actually liked the 4500 better. and i actually had a problem with the samsung freezing, not the lg, but it was fixed when the software was updated. the only problem i ever had with the 4500 (i had it a few weeks) is that it re-booted once for no reason. i have heard of issues concerning the speaker breaks easily and the phone re-booting on a daily basic, but i never had either of those happen to me or any of my friends with it. the samsung is also a good phone, but i didn't like the bright blue flashing box (the cursor) when writing a text message because i could barely see the actual letter i was typing. and i personally like the way the contact list is set-up on the lg. and the digit-dial on the lg is awesome! it's all pe...

thanks dino, sounds like you use the phone alot like i do, alot of text messaging, and i've been dying for a better contact list from the unalphabetized tm 510 i've still been hanging with. the 4600 is intriguing to me if i can get it with analog, and the prospect of buying a samsung online and selling it on ebay then turning around and buying the lg is also an idea.

any word on the games part of either one?
