I have both carriers. I prefer Tmobile. They have better service in my area & the sound quality is far superior to Verizon. It all depends on which one works better where you go. Why do people keep asking this question over & over? Do your homework & figure it out for yourself.

By cool phones do you mean ones that work when I need it to. If thats what your talking about than yah VZW has several "cool" phones. By saying vcast is a joke is the same as saying technology is a joke. 15 yrs ago you couldnt even imagine watching videos on a handheld device. As far as content the system just launched and the contents of the videos will only get better.
Guess what I always have my cell phone on me and Im not always in front of or around a computer with internet access, and as far as I know the internet is not free. Actually I pay $60.00 a month to have broadband service at my house.

Verizon has better coverage than Tmobile yes. however, do you need the coverage Verizon boasts so much about? Seriously, most verizon customers only use their cell phone around town and in their homes, places that Tmobile get the exact same coverage around, and V Customers are paying up to $20-$30 more per month for this! Unless I go to BFE (ButF****ingEgypt) then my Tmobile phone works great, and in some places better than verizon, if I ever travel outside the united states I will also be able to use my quad band GSM phone.
If I do not like Tmobiles selection of phones I will buy a European or Japanese phone off Ebay like the Nokia N90 (look that bad boy up you Verizon Fan Boys)

The Samsung i730 is pretty cool too. Not sure if you are counting PDA phones in your argument. I think it's the Samsung a970 (could be a little off on the model number) has a side mounted camera and a screen the flips and swivels. No, Verizon's phones don't pack in all of the neat little features and cool designs that GSM phones come with, but they work most of the places that people need them and that's more than can be said for GSM phones. I would really hate to be stuck in the woods with a phone that takes really good pictures, but can't place a call.

Obviously you haven't used a Cingular phone lately. Our Allover network has improved so much (and it keeps getting better) as network integration takes place as we speak.

I actually use Alltel in my neck of the woods and it is the best option for where I live.
I wouldn't go to Cingular anyways. I prefer CDMA and nothing short of free service and a free phone would get me to change.

Do the test, get any GSM phone whether Cngy's or T-mo's put it on on ear then do the same with a Vzw or just any CDMA phone on the other ear. This will be your turning point. It's not the band that makes calls clearer. It's the frequency. GSM has better call clarity, period.

At my house every carrier works... I still stick with Verizon and Cingular cause some of my friends' homes those two are the only ones that seem to get a good signal inside.

Really my opinion is that go with what ever carrier works best for you. We live in America and the great thing is you have a choice people. There are several different carriers who offer different services and different phones. Find the one that works for you and go with it. I dont think that these forums really have that much influence on what people buy. So go take a phone with every carrier keep the one that works best for you and take the other ones back. Really who the f cares what carrier your with. Just find one that makes you happy.

It all depends on your area, ask around, see which gets better reception for your area, in some cases, VZW will get getter voice quaility and reception, in others, T-Mobile. It also depends on what phone you're interested in getting, VZW has a nice assortment of smartphones and will be getting the CDMA RAZR V3 which I believe is coming out 1st quarter 2006, and it should be compatable with the EV-DO network. T-mobile has the RAZR as of now.
