Verizon New Phone Timeline

Anyone here have insight into when Verizon's new phones will be introduced?

I am interested in the Motorola phones that will be coming out but don't know when they will be out. I am considering switching to a different carrier since I don't like any of the current Motorola phones. But I'd still like to stay loyal to Motorola.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

We have a couple of Motorola phones coming out this year but of course there is no specific date of when they will be released!!! There are several other models that we offer that may give you the same features that you can get on a Motorola phone. What is it that you are looking for in a phone?

😕 😕 😕

What about the Treo 600? I have heard rumors that Verizon is testing it now. I would like a PDA phone but their current lineup leaves little to be desired.

I'm trying to find the same thing out as I heard they are testing the Trio 600 for a May availability.

However we all know how that can slide even if true.....it's timetable will determine whether I stay with verizon.

I'm with you- no Treo 600 by end of May, one less 200/month voice and data customer for Verizon. Hopefully someone from Verizon is reading all the emails about how poor their phone selection is in general, and how really bad it is in terms of PDA phones. I'm currently using their Kyocera 7135 Palm phone. Its too big, too buggy and has lousy battery life. Sprint's network isn't quite as good, but its good enough. Their phone selection is superior and so is their Vision data network.

I have 4 phones (family) and the 7135 is my personal phone (I use >2000/min/month). If VZW doesn't clean up their act soon and get the T600 or something better (as of now there isn't anything better) I'm jumping to Sprint. I love the VZW network - but the K7135 SUCKS, too many bugs, and the darn thing just doesn't work very well.

I second that motion. I also have a 7135 with 2000/min per month and data useage and will do the exact same thing as you- go to Sprint with T600. The Kyocera 7135 is a pain. I finally got so frustrated with the "fatal exception faults" that I called service and asked if they had any firmware updates. There were in fact new releases and given my useage, they sent me a brand new phone that has been much much more reliable (ie., no crashes in two weeks where the other would crash once/day with heavy email and incoming text messages). If you haven't done so already, you might want to call their data support and have them check your firmware version.

Brian,
Thanks for the feedback. I have already completed the firmware upgrade (did they tell you your Graffiti was going to change - another pain!!). It took a couple of weeks until I started having problems - again. Yes, the phone is better - but I lose everything about every two weeks. One thing this has conditioned me to is frequent HotSync's. I have three batteries; one is dead, the other two last for about 20 - 30 minutes of talk time each. The only place to get replacement batteries is directly through Kyocera. My Verizon rep is unable to order me a replacement (at no cost) because it seems Verizon doesn't stock them anymore. Have you experienced the almost guaranteed "fatal exception" when replacing the battery - only two of t...

I feel your pain. Yeah Graffiti 2 blows. I downloaded something called Jot which seems better (at www.cic.com). I imagine there are a lot of disgusted 7135 owners whose one year contract runs out in the May/June timeframe. If they don't offer a better alternative (ie. Treo 600), I'm going to Sprint. I actually had the Treo 300 from Sprint and loved both the phone and the Vision network. I stayed with Verizon because there network is better, but at this point, I'm tired of their arrogance and poor selection of phones. On top of that, Sprints rates are really much much better. What the heck, I guess Verizon doesn't need 2000 minute/month customers like you and me. The only thing you can do to get something then the normal corporate sp...

I get discounts on Moto phones, but if the new ones don't come out yet, I may as well just upgrade to the T730 for like $20 and use it until something new comes out. I'm currently using the V120c and it's getting old.

I am confused as to why people still want Motorola phones - especially the CDMA Motorola. The charging system is horrible, the menu is awkward, the reception is usually poor ( except on the old Timeport 270 ) and it seems that I see most customers have problems with Motorola phones. Many years ago Motorola was the only way to go - but now I see them as the lowest quality phones that Verizon carries. I would love to hear others opinions.
