I am moving from Florida to Maine
The currnet company I am with does not have nationwide svc so I am looking into another carrier. Personally I don't want to do a contract so I was wondering if you can sign up w/o one & just buy the phone outright & how is the coverage in the midcoast area of Maine?

I was planning on purchasing my phone & setting up svc while I was still in Florida & having either a # local to S. Florida or an 800 # (for business reasons) Does anyone know if I live up there but have my acct down in Fl would that be a problem or affect my bill in anyway???

Thanks in advance

From the america's choice coverage map, a significant amount of Maine is analog coverage, so you'll need a tri-mode phone(lg4400, moto t730, audiovox 8900...) also, I'm not sure if you can sign up w/out at least a one year contract, even if you buy the phone at the full price, new cust. price + 200.00= unactivated (other than pre-pay). Second, if you set up your service before moving you can keep your Fl number, not sure if you can put an 800# on a cell phone, or if it would be worth it ($$$)
