Hi, I am wondering if Verizon will activate non VZN phones on your line. I am under contract, but really like the LG Vortex, but I notice Virgin Mobile offers the same phone, LG Optimus V, for a lesser price ($150)
Could I buy it from Virgin Mobile and have it activated on my Verizon account?

Technically yes, probably, but getting it all done and working properly is gonna be tough. If you can find the right person to help you flash it to Verizon, maybe, but if anything doesn't work correctly, they won't be able to assist you further thru VZ tech support.

To do this, you need to get someone in tech to manually ad the ESN for you. If they do this without some really high up approval they risk their job.

No. Not your garden variety tech rep like I was. The ESN/MEID would have to be emailed to a special team to be added. Sure we could add the ESN temporarily but it would be cleared out in a month. It would not add it in the billing system.

Yeah I was just hoping... I still like the Vortex and guess I will wait a while to buy it outright. Always trying to save money though lol, thanks everyone!
