Motorola Droid Pro

Does anyone have an opinion about this phone? I swore I would never get a Motorola phone because of call quality and I've been using the Blackberry Bold the last 2 years. I need a physical qwerty key board, not really into touch screens, but this phone seems decent.

I've asked the same question about the Droid 2 Global and the response has been to wait for the announcements coming out of CES which begins 1/6. Nobody has made any negative statements about the phone only to wait and see what's being announced.

I have been a long time BlackBerry user currently using the Tour. I played around with the Droid Pro and I wasn't really impressed. Although the keyboard is very "BlackBerry" like in my opinion it isn't as good. Waiting and hoping that at least one new BlackBerry device is announced for Verizon soon.

As ImScott said, wait a few days to see what's announced on January 6th. If there's no Blackberry in the immediate future (which is the most likely case), then I would consider a Droid. I made the switch in late 2009 with the original Droid.

The few things I miss from Blackberry (BBM, better ringtone customization) I've long since gotten over.

Most people I used to BBM with are on Android now anyway, so I use Google Talk.

I can now make a ringtone out of anything, for the most part, right off the phone. But I can't set up different notification tones for different purposes. Blackberry let me customize my rings and vibrations to an extreme. Nothing else comes close to what Blackberry would do in this arena.

I don't have...

Amen to everything you just said; after almost 4 years with BB and now with the DINC I don't think I'm going to consider going back until QNX is out and running on a lot of BB's, then we'll see. At first I had a hard time adjusting, BB was so damn customizable but by the end of the second day I knew they'd have to pry my Incredible from my cold dead fingers lol. On the Droid Pro most of the reviews I read loved the phone but they all complained about the earpiece/sound quality, very strange for a Moto device, this is usually one of their strengths; perhaps this is fixed by now. Nice looking phone imo.

I am prett happy with the ones I have sold to date. Great keyboard without having to slide it open. All of the standard android functions work well and you can always get a bigger memory card if needed.

After inquiring as to what to replace my BB curve with last week, I weighed the pros and cons and went with the Droid Pro.

So far so good. Keyboard is a bit different with numbers at the top and the buttons have a different feel, but not bad.

Love the wifi part, the app store, and the lock after nonuse.

As for call quality I normally pair with my bluetooth in my truck so I can't comment on the phone itself in that respect.

My emails have done OK with the exception of setting up my work email which is through outlook, just have not set down to figure it out. My other two accounts are gmail and yahoo they have been fine.

Not big on the facebook or twitter, but I like how they are set up on the Pro as opposed to my curve. ...
