Heard that there are some problems with apps from the droid market not being compatible with the droid X, any truth to this? If so, what percentage?

Not sure about percentages, but this inevitably happens for many new models, not just the DroidX, due to hardware differences between models.

Incompatibility doesn't necessarily mean an app won't work at all.

Whenever I've run into this issue, which isn't very often, a software update shortly comes out to fix it.

I see "Added xxxx support" (model name) on update reports all the time.

All Android apps need to be tweaked slightly for optimum performance on different hardware versions.

On my Fascinate, I see issues all the time where an app just won't work on my phone, but functions flawlessly on my wife's Droid X.

The two that bug me the most are:

I can't use the LED camera flash as a flashlight. It can be done on nearly all the Motorola's, but not on my Galaxy S.

Angry Birds will freak out on my Samsung occasionally. I go to launch a bird and it thinks I'm doing a pinch-to-zoom gesture. Have to shut the app down and relaunch it to clear the problem.

I use tiny flashlight on my Epic 4g and it works great. Also angrybirds runs super smooth and I also have completely removed the ads. Sounds like a verizon fascinate problem to me. Although you are correct the apps do require tweak for different hardware on android.

Tiny Flashlight + Led by nikolay ananiev its has a bunch of different flashlight features and is one of the more polished flashed light apps on android imo. Gets updated and improved regularly. 😎

So you removed the method that the company uses to help fund development for the app?

I support them in other ways. I have angry birds on my Pre and other devices. I would happily pay for a add free version but they do not have one atm on Android.

Also roviomobile is not a developer short on cash and are at the bottom of my list as far as developers that need funding.
