I'm ready to swap out my BB Storm, quite possibly for Droid 2 Global.
Since the announcement of phones becoming available for LTE in February I'm thinking it might make sense to wait. I'm working on the assumption that the current Droids including the Droid 2 Global are not LTE ready/compatible.
Just wondering what some of you think since you're all way more knowledgeable on these matters than me. Thx in advance.

Personally, I learned from my own purchase of the BB 9530 that I have no great interest in being a beta tester for new technologies.
I won't be investing in an LTE smartphone until at least this time next year. That's mostly because I barely use the 3G, so I have no need for nextG.
If you are willing to quite possibly have another BB Storm experience, I would wait until February and see what happens.
I, for one, am not willing to do that again.

I will beta test LTE for you 😁

I am with you on this I have my storm 1 and waiting for the next phones to come out nothing out their really interests me right now though
...
Wow, you must have really, really high standards if nothing interests you. Not the Droid Incredible, not the Droid X, not the original Motorola Droid, wow.
...
well honestly I don't like sliding phones I like all touch, the X my brother has, and well the Incredible I just never got on that bandwagon it's a good phone though.

It's up to you if you think you can wait, but if I were you, I'd wait.
Here's what will probably ber coming in February:
Dual-core smartphones
Front facing cameras for video calling
Gingerbread Android
Well, at least those things, so if you can handle waiting, it will be worth it.
Do you live in a city that will be among the first to get LTE?
...
Yeah, I'm in the northeast which is supposed to be in the first tier. Not sure what dual-core or Gingerbread android are. I'll need to do a little internet searching after the tryptophan wears off.
...
ahh...dual-core preprocessors, just like PCs. Duh. Got it.

Do you live IN or near one of the 38 launch markets?
If yes, and you want to be an early adopter, then wait for LTE.
Otherwise you should just get a 1 year contract (no NE2 credits, $70 more than normal 2 year price) and then ask the question again next december when their upgrade path is better known.

I'm in Boston and I believe we were always among the first launch cities. I have a feeling the current Droids will be fine for my needs for the next 20 months. My understanding is that the LTE data plans will be priced differently (and most likely a little higher).
