Right now I have the audovox 8900... Could I purchase the Treo 600 or 650 when it comes out and just have the America Choice plan or am I forced to have the data plan also? I was wondering I would just pay the extra 5 dollars per month and be on express network not the pda plan and the I would be able to have higher speed connection plus cheaper plan.

You can buy any PDA phone without being required to add a data plan. It's your choice. But why would you buy a phone manufactured specifically for data use and then not use if for such? Keep in mind phones like the treo are set up to constantly be comunicating with the network in order to search for incoming emails. That means without a data plan, your minutes are being used. I've seen plenty of $1000+ bills due to these phones using the network constantly. If you purchase a PDA and don't intend to use it for data, make sure you're not connected if you don't want to be. Usually bill rerates can be done for data usage, but technically and legally the charges are valid.

I will be doing this on my PDA.

1. Talking
2. Using the programs on it
3. I would connect to the internet if need to get to my servers and see about the service or re-booting them.
Couldn't I get onto Mobile Web 2.0 network and just be charged 5 dollars a month?
