Looking for advice
Like Jay said in another post LTE is right around the corner. So getting a new phone then is a bit silly.
Do you guys think Verizon will let people upgrade early to an LTE device once they are available and your market has service?
I am stuck. My Eris improved with 2.1 but is a bit sluggish. 😕
I normally can't wait for new devices, but I was looking for opinions.
Thanks guys!
Unless you are in a MAJOR Market (philly, NYC, Sanfran, etc) don't expect LTE really in your area right away. And even if you are in an LTE area at launch, it doesn't mean everywhere will have it, plus we don't know what the data plan scheme will be.
If I were you, and I couldn't get a single year upgrade, I would try and find a DINC or Droid online for 300-400 or so, and then just get an upgrade at the normal time.
I don't think they'll do a crazy exception upgrade to go to 4g. (maybe only one like they did with droidx, but not a droidx to a 4g)
That being said, the Dinc and the X are both great phones, and until we know more about 4g, it's not a bad idea.

No, I don't.
If you want to be the first kid on your street to have an LTE smartphone, wait.
If not, VZW generally will let you do an upgrade every 12 months unless you're a tag-a-long on a family plan, so you could get an LTE smartphone next September anyway. You just won't get it in early summer like the beta testers.
👀 I mean, early adopters.... 👀
So long story short you never know you have a 40% chance of upgrading early for LTE.
I don't mind the larger size of the X.
I want the better battery life and signal strength. Although I have a Seidio battery from my Eris that looks to fit the Incredible.
Verizon's website the Incredible is reviewed better, but here the X has the better reviews.
Any thoughts or suggestions guys?
Thanks for any input. 🙂
If you don't mind the huge footprint on the Droid X, I see no reason to get an Incredible. X uses a traditional LCD screen that performs brilliantly in all lighting conditions though it does burn up the battery faster. Even the extended life battery isn't "bigger enough" to really help that much. 😢
