the future of PALM...

I just bought my Palm Pixi Plus on April 17th and I LOVE it. I really couldn't be happier with my device. However I am concerned about the future of the Palm line of products. I know HP just bought Palm but I read somewhere that they mainly purchased Palm for the WebOS... So my question is what is this going to mean for the current Palm product owners? I want to know what this means I terms of future support and accessory availability...

I personally think that the WebOS is amazing and had Palm not went with those disturbing commercials they would have seen better sales and possibly NOT been in this position at all... But it is what it is... But where does that leave me in a year?

I think Palm is in a much better place now than it was weeks ago.

HP is a big company and they wouldn't drop that much scratch without good reason.

While the Patent Portfolio is a large part of the purchase, I doubt they are going to just let WebOS die.

Hopefully within the next year there will be WebOS on other platforms - I'd give serious thought to a WebOS Tablet for example.

Last week? I'd say hands down, don't get a palm. This week? I'd get one and wouldn't worry to much about it. A year from now you'll be eligible for upgrade if it comes down to it.
