Storm2 Vs. Droid, Anyone go from blackberry to Android?
My original Storm is beginning to endure consistent problems and instead of fiddling with it I think I’m just going to hop on to something new.
For those of you that either have, or know someone that has either gone from RIM to Android, or vise versa, this thread is for you.
Pros/cons. Please keep it professional, No blackberry blows!, or is laggy or any of that childish adolescence please, TIA.
The things I like and use. I use my VZW rhapsody frequently, and do use the media functions a lot. I love my BBM, and do use my camera often. I like simplicity as im a high user. Lots of email, text, and phone calls throughout the day. I...

My understanding is that the Storm2 does not accept the 32gb sd. That would be new to me.
The email was something I was curious about and I will be further looking into that on the droid forums.
I like Android, but there were some key things I missed about blackberry...mainly Blackberry messenger. I also hate the droid design, the keyboard is pretty much useless and the phone is really heavy! If you want the touchscreen form factor I think I would take the Storm2 over the Droid right now.
The one thing I had to look at for my own decision was:
"What do you value more"
If the answer is fast, quick, email/messaging...GO BB!!
If the answer is apps and internet....GO DROID!!
Sadly, I use by browser a lot and the multimedia. Im not an app person, but I do like some apps. It's a toss up, lol. I might try and grab a demo one lol.
I actually think blackberry has better multimedia than Android (mp3's etc...)
If you look at their corporate culture, they are HUGE on letting people design their own way of doing things. That is how we Got gmail, maps, wave (which is awesome btw), and a host of other neat features.
Android was developed as a development platform. The fact that you can replace almost every aspect of the "default" features without resorting to hacking is awesome.
I just ordered another Tour. 🤭
I'm sure someone will think I'm out of touch but for my use I feel Blackberries are just more straight forward, cut & dry, black & white.
I've rolled with the Droid for several months and I may come back to it. It is fast and after my 3rd one I got one that works as a phone extremely well too.
But I do like Blackberries physical keyboards better than the Droids and I just prefer a trackball, pad to scrolling.
Just a few things that influenced my decision.

First, on a personal note, I want to ask everyone who's made or attempted this transition to explain to me how the email experience was different for them. I often hear coworkers and Verizon peeps say "the email is better on Blackberry" when someone asks them the differences between the two platforms. But when I ask them to explain why the Blackberry is better, they usually have a "just because" type of response. A few tell me Blackberry is faster at receiving emails, but when we test it the two are about the same (they go back and forth). When they tell me the keyboard is easier/faster on the Blackberry, we have a type-off and I usually win that one on my Droid's VIRTUAL KEYBOARD. Emails appear to go thro

Pros:
Android Market is better than App World
The Beta Google Maps is way better then the free maps Blackberry gives you
Texting is easier even though the keyboard on the droid is way to flush. I still like it better then "the button".
You'll notice that things on the Droid are more vibrant than on the storm (Color) to be specific and that's because the Droid is 24bit.
Cons:
It was an adjustments for me to not have BBM (blackberry Messenger), but I moved on, and google talk replaced it for me. All my friends have google accounts.
I went out of the country and I had to get a loner phone from Verizon last month. I could have just used my Storm had I had it. The ...
