verizon commercials
bring on the BS hate mail. we all know it lies like your commercials
Americannarc
oh - and the reason for the commercials in the first place is that the AT&T stores are so slow they had time crush you in Q3 with net adds. They are also slow enough to provide much better customer service as evident by the record low churn that also beat Verizon in Q3.
try again sparky.
I am an At&t customer but does Verizon commercials are great.
In our part of the market, Verizon is pushing us to become more like the AT&T/others experience. We don't do phonebook transfers in the stores any more. We don't have most of the warranty replacements, and have to ship them to you. We no longer have the "three swap-outs" program as most people knew it....

The reason At&t doesn't have any customers in the store is because they are enjoying there great service and they don't have any problems with there phone. Like the other person stated Verizon always has customers because they either have a problenm with their service, or returning a phone because it crapped out on em. And the At&t map commerical is not false, they may not have 3g everywhere but they still do get service with edge. And if you look At&t's quartly results are better than Verizon. How about posting something that is useful or true. 🙂
Ok. You want something true? Well here it goes. The reason why AT&T customers are never in the store is because they are too LAZY! I have to dea...

none of those numbers are reported in net add earnings. ATT bought Cingular back in the day to become number one. The big players all got big through aquisition.
Actually, Cingular bought the old AT&T Wireless and took the number one slot. Then Cingular's bigger parent, SBC, bought the old AT&T Corp and became the new AT&T. Then the new AT&T bought BellSouth and took full ownership of Cingular. Cingular was then rebranded as AT&T and dropped to second place after Verizon Wireless acquired Alltel.

kk, well I knew one bought out the other
Just helping you to better know you're wireless history. I've been a cellular junkie since 2003 and I have seen a lot of changes, hell, we all have.
Personally, I wish the Cingular branding would not have been discontinued. The brand was perceived to be a solid one, much preferable to AT&T which is seen as an archaic monopoly that lacks innovation. The Cingular brand was new, fun, and innovative in the public's eye.
Verizon, meanwhile, has done a phenomenal job at maintaining it's positive image as a brand. Right from its inception ten years ago, it has maintained a positive public perception.

If you are a wireless junkie then you know that just as Verizon was formed from smaller companies so was the original Cingular (from Bell South Mobility, SBC, Pac Bell Ameritech etc...) What is it with you people and the gang like affinity for your wireless providers? None of them gives a *Bleep* about us. They just want our money.
Oh I knew that Cingular was formed out of SBC Wireless, BellSouth Mobility, Ameritech Cellular, Pac Bell Mobility, SNET Mobility, and so on. I was just saying that the Cingular BRAND was thought of as fresh, innovative, etc. whilst AT&T's brand is thought of as old, archaic, etc.
And of course they all want our money. They are corporations, and corporations a...

So theres no app that lets you use the built-in wifi as a wifi router on Android?
I just rooted my phone tonight.. one of the reasons was for the tether (and for the overclocking)
How did you learn to root it? Did someone in the Android Central forums teach you how?
The things you can do with Android are amazing!
Installing a custom rom (what gave me overclocking and tether) was a bit more involved but it's basically like patching a computer. Once you get the process, it's cake.
I started by doing android central forums, but ended up finding: rootyourdroid.info, which I really like.
I also found out that my phone apparently has an FM radio... can't wait for someone to figure out how to use it.
I've been thinking a lot about my getting an Android smartphone plans. The past year plus I have been putting a LOT of pressure on myself to completly pay off my credit card and rid myself of debt, and give myself a fresh start in life. My tax refund was $1,029, and my Nokia N95 is 2yrs old, and it's slow, and I want to take advantage of all the advances of the past 2yrs. Snapdragon processor, 3.7in AMOLED displays and so on.
But this is a hard decision, in all likeliness an Android smartphone will cost me, what like $220 w/tax? I've already got a nice brown leather cell phone case I got from Pocket Solutions that I've had for almost 2yrs, and I already have a 16gb microsd card, so I really ...

Besides, once my credit card is paid off it would only take me 2 paychecks to save up for an Android smartphone.
