A amartphone from Verizon that will never need the VZ Navigator advanced devices $9.99 feature. You'll save $240 over the length of your two year contract right there (versus a normal smartphone on Verizon).

Get this, too - the Moto Droid uses assisted AND standalone GPS. That means you could rely on tower-assisted GPS (like VZ Navigator), or you could use satellite GPS when you're out in the middle of nowhere. When I went through Android training, I popped into Google Maps on the Droid and played with the GPS. It had me inside a building, within feet of my actual location.

Pair Google's turn by turn GPS and you're pretty close to the VZ Nav experience.

I could use GPS on my Storm right now, free, without VZ Nav, but it's nothing like what the Droid has on it, also free. You can't even get VZ Nav on Android (yet - you know they'll eventually get to that).
