America's Choice plan

I guess Verizon is trying to get all the people on America's Choice plan to drop it or forget a new phone. I have a Curve for that exact reason, I can use it and keep my plan. If I go for the TP2 to upgrade it won't let me without changing my voice plan. CS told me I cannot order that phone with AC plan. Sucks..........

Not if the phone is linked to be nationwide only. Sort of like if you get a new smartphone, you need to pay data on it, and it won't let you activate the phone without putting data on your plan.

What plan are you on? Because almost every AC plan has a Nationwide variant. The main thing that changes was how you processed data, which wouldn't matter for you with a smartphone anyway.

1K min for $55, an additional 1K min mobile to mobile, unlimited text in network-250 beyond that, 8PM for nights and weekends, plus of course the extra $30 for BB.

I have never seen or heard of one. I have been working for Verizon indirectly for 3.5 years and have seen some really old plans and features. Hmmm, dunno.

Certain areas had that plan. I used to sell out of the northern Utah area and there was a first-generation America's Choice plan that was 1000 minutes with unlimited M2M and 1000 N&W for $39.99 out of Idaho that I had access to. We even pushed it as an alternative to T-Mobile for a while, until the company came down on us because we weren't in Idaho. I've heard of similar plans in various areas around the country.

For those of you who've worked for Verizon less than four years, back when we had four distinct billing systems, each billing system handled calling plans differently. An America's Choice plan in the west was "built" in Vision (that's pre-ACSS / pre-NetAce for most of you) differently than it was in, say, North Carolina. In...

I can't think of any reason why you'd have to change to Nationwide for the TP2. I haven't seen any PDA yet that requires you to change to Nationwide. The data on PDA's is totally different than on phones and has no barring on AC or Nationwide. We don't have any TP2's yet so we haven't attempted to sell any either. They could have changed it on this one, but I don't know why.

Also, you'll never be able to upgrade online and keep your plan. Online always forces you to a current price plan no matter what. A store or CS should be able to let you stay on AC.

If I were you I would stick with your Berry and remain on AmChoice. Of course, you have a Berry so you have to have a data plan with it, but if you were to switch to a regular phone you would be able to use your off-peak minutes for data use.
