Ability to roam???

RamblinRose

Under the new no roaming plan will my phone still have the ability to roam in an area it would roam before but I won’t get charged for the roaming? Or, under the new plan will it take away my ability to roam in that area and I won’t have any service?

As I understand it, there's a little bit of each. Consequently, you must look at areas you are likely to travel in and determine whether you will now be covered by Verizon's no-roam plan where you had only roaming coverage under the old plan or whether you will now have no service under Verizon's no-roam plan.

The Verizon rep misled me when I called to make the switch. She told me that I would still roam but would not be charged to do so.

I am in southern NJ. There are a few areas before that would roam. According to the new map they are now no coverage areas. I would prefer to have coverage and have to pay the extra then to have no service at all.

As a long time customer I must now say that I am no longer a happy one. No roaming is nothing but deception making customers think they won’t have to pay roaming charges.

Why don't you call customer service and ask to have the old plan reinstated? I understand that if you do so within 30 days of switching to the new plan, that they will switch you back. Perhaps a customer service rep can confirm that.

Were's the deception? If you can't roam, then you don't have to pay for roaming charges, what's so complicated about that? 😕

The deception is that they DID NOT tell me I'd loss the ability to roam. They told me I'd still roam but wouldn't be charged for roaming. Maybe in some areas this may be true but in my case the area is now a no service area.

Sounds like you want to go back to your old plan. As one of the customer service reps mentioned, you can switch back:

Verizon is getting more like Cingular every passing hour...Free roaming = NO SERVICE....I remember when the Verizon boys used to say this was the bad thing about Cingular........

Actually, dweeb, VZW added a lot to its service area when it switched to no roaming on its AC plans. Some old roam areas are no service, but lots became service areas with no roaming fees.

Q: Why do you hate Verizon so bad that you feel the need to misrespresent them and troll their forum all day long?

So what youre saying is that youre just another idiot internet troll with no life? Thanks, but we caught that right away. 🙄

The funny part is where you go out of your way to assure us that youre here only 5 minutes a day, when its obvious that youre glued to the screen hitting 'refresh' every 2 seconds. Wotta tool.

As I was told, you will be able to call 911, or 611 to get a hold of verizon, no other calls can be made.

This could be a good thing for the customers. If you need to make a call while your phone says no service, just call 611, tell verizon rep that you have emergency, you need to get a hold of such and such for help, and have them connect you to that party, then the phone call will be free of charge, no minutes burned up either..... 😁 We have to start looking at the positive side of things... 😈
