The Sprint CDMA and iDEN networks are now reported to be working at their best levels, and not only the company says that, but customers and third-party reports as well. According to the mobile phone carrier, this state of facts is the result of its investments in the expansion and improvement of the network performance, which toped $17 billion since 2006.

“Better network performance has been a major priority and a key part of the improvements we’ve made over the past year that have materially changed the customer experience with Sprint,” said Dan Hesse, president and chief executive officer of Sprint. “Palm Pre is the coming out party for the new Sprint – the perfect device to show how far our networks have c...

Sprint's CDMA network is the *ONLY* network built from the ground up coast to coast.

Verizon buys multiple smaller regional CDMA networks. That's how Verizon was built when they were first created.

In terms of *original* network customer base Sprint is by far the largest.

Ever since Dan Hesse stepped in Sprint has improved greatly in terms of network coverage, customer service, and customer base. Improvements take time. In the next 5 years we will see a difference in where customers decide to spend their money.

HEY KANYON

Who owns sprint's towers?? 🤣 🤣 🤣

I will give it to them though. They knew they were running the company into the ground and sold off their towers and now rent them back...and it has helped their reliability.

Say what you will about Verizon towers, atleaste they own them and maintain them and keep battery backup and generators on site. Dring Katrina Verizon was the only c...

Verizon will have the towers to add LTE on. Which is a very smart idea. This will cut cost on needing to add new towers when they can add new antennas and what not.

Verizon bought the largest part of the 700 spectrum which covers the whole US except Alaska.

Sprint was founded on a similar principal. The OP doesn't seem to recognize Sprint's history well (and its previous names/partnerships, such as GTE Sprint or United Telecom), nor the fact that the Sprint PCS network that is STILL a partnership with other companies is actually their third wireless network attempt.

Sprint's CDMA network was a patch of acquisitions and partnerships with local-area cellular and cable providers in 1994 under the Sprint Spectrum. The first Sprint PCS wireless network was actually a converted GSM network in the Baltimore - DC metro area.

Check out this site, it compares coverage maps of AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Cricket (ha ha!)

http://cellularmap.net/net_compare.shtml#USCellular »

Verizon has the largest native network, then AT&T, then Sprint, then T-Mobile.

I find your post about as useful as going to a Comcast forum and saying how Verizon Fios has faster speeds and a better selection. Useless.
