Looks sexy, finally we get a CDMA version of the Bold (won't be caught dead with AT&T, so I'm stoked that it'll be on Sprint!)

We all know its going to be alot better on VZW for our massive 3G network and it being all Rev A. And, people can use it in more countries with Verizon then Sprint.

When you are roaming off towers you don't always have access to all your features. On top of that, just because you have roaming voice doesn't mean you have roaming 3.

Here in rural PA, verizon is the ONLY carrier with 3G. sprints phones, if they get service, roam for voice only.

Just because Sprint is CDMA, and sprint roams off of verizon CDMA towers, doesn't mean that sprint works wherever Verizon does.

Rural PA? Back-woods-who-cares-country, USA is the best you could come up with? How many farmers do you know are going to be lining up to snap ANY high end phone, let alone a Blackberry?

Sorry, this isn't farming country. This is mountain country. Mountains where a lot of people who work in NYC have their homes because it is cheaper. Mountains that have the vacation homes of a lot of wealthy customers from Philly, New York, etc.

Not everyone lives in a city.

Maybe if you wern't such an IDIOT and would READ it, it says:

Verizon: Voice is 200 countries, data is 175 places.

Sprint: Voice is 185 countries and says NOTHING about data.

Verizon has Roaming Agreements with the data networks. Which is WHY Verizon has "the best data coverage world wide" like AT&T says they have "the best voice coverage world wide" by Roaming Agreements.

Are you planning on traveling to all 200 countries with the Tour? Who cares? All I care about is that Sprint has a faster and larger 3G network than Verizon. Oh yeah, and I can get everything for $99.99. I had a Blackberry on Verizon once on the 450 plan and I was paying $89.99 a month for BB and text.
...
VZW611LA

Jun 18, 2009, 1:52 PM
Larger? HAHA!

No they don't. Sprint doesn't come close to Verizons 3G network!! Plus, ours is 100% Rev A. Next, My phone BB beat the HTC touch Pro from Sprint in a data test! Data Speeds vary by how many customers on the tower.

What a loser. He doesn't even know what hes talking about!!

You're the loser for spending all your money on a Blackberry plan with Verizon. How does it feel to be raped? Sprint's expanding as we speak with 4G WiMax. BAM! BAM! BAM!
...
VZW611LA

Jun 18, 2009, 4:11 PM
So is Verizon.I spend money on Verizon because I get the best service and support out of any other network in the US. I have 3G all over the US, unlike Sprint who doesn't. Youre some 13 year old kid who doesn't know what hes talking about. Verizon has more licens to add LTE 4G then Sprint does to add WiMax. You are not helping yourself at all. You just sound more dumb with every post! HAHA!
...
MarkCohen

Jun 18, 2009, 4:17 PM
You know that by your own logic, you test against the Touch pro is irrelevant, given that there could have been more Sprint users on that tower than Verizon's on yours. Now, I know that you'll scoff at anyone having more of anything than VZW because you're that predictable, but believe it or not, it is entirely possible.

I used to be a Verizon customer years ago, but when I needed a Blackberry I simply couldn't accept paying the price Verizon was quoting me. So I switched to Sprint. Service is 100% equal. Here's my question. With the release of the Storm and now the Tour does Verizon plan on either lowering their Blackberry plan pricing or maybe including text messaging, GPS navigation, and TV in their Blackberry plan?

no verizon does not have to give away the farm like sprint, that's the only way they can snag a few customers here and there. Verizon is adding millions of customers, they're not bleeding a MILLION customers ever quarter..so change is unlikely.

Jun 18, 2009, 4:22 PM
This was a serious question but I got a sarcastic reply. In that case why would I switch back if both networks are equal and I can get more with Sprint? I was just thinking that maybe Verizon would lower their high prices in these hard times. Afterall, most Americans are looking to save money not spend more.
...
VZW611LA

Jun 18, 2009, 4:47 PM
Verizon can't lower the prices. People think a company like Verizon can run off prices like Sprint or T-Mobile when we can't.

Our Network is 4 times the size of Sprints. Our 3G network is noe 3 times the size of Sprints. We have 3 times the stores and wokers of Sprint. Verizon is looking for workers, not geting rid of them. We get millions of customers each quater.

Every one of our towers has back up power. ALL of them. Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, ect. do not on all towers. Being Americas best network is not going to be low in price.

When you have a network so large, and make sure its up and running 24/7, its going to cost money. Also, you pay AT&T the same price as Verizon, but you hear little to no problems with Verizons network. Veri...

You're missing the point. I'm a customer. I don't care what the current statistics are. I care about saving money as do more and more customers. We don't care that Verizon has coverage in nonpopulated middle of nowhere areas that I will never travel to. And if I do I will roam for free. The whole point of my original question was maybe I will switch if Verizon lowers their Blackberry plan lower than what I currently pay on Sprint. If I didn't need data I'd go to one of those prepaid unlimited plans. This is how most Americans are thinking. We don't work for Verizon so it doesn't matter what's your stats say. I know that I've had Sprint and friends of Verizon and AT&T and coverage is all the same so it comes down to value and price.
...
yeahright

Jun 18, 2009, 6:17 PM
Not to be a jerk, but most americans carry Verizon, so most don't think that. I want my phone to work...always..I need it period. As far as pricing, there are plenty of free gps services out for BB. I have tried a few and was very impressed. $30 for BB data is not a crazy price to pay in this market, neither are their text rates. As far as TV goes, if price is your main concern then maybe mobile TV shouldn't be?

Anyway, I think I get my money for what I pay each month on my BB and I have a boat load of 3rd party apps as well.

But your original question is legit so let me ask you this...What do you pay now, minutes, data, and text limits included so we can make a recommendation or compare.

Sprint doesn't Roam on all of Verizons network. They will only allow 911 calls on some of it. And if most Americans wanted low cost service, then Verizon wouldn't be growing as fast as they are and Sprint wouldn't be looseing as many customers as they are. People want the best, and Verizon is.

You act like I want you back to Verizon.

Look guy,

You said they were the same but they are not. You say you know how MOST Americans are thinking they why are so many leaving Sprint and coming to Verizon Nostradamus?

If Sprint works well for YOU then great. Glad for you. The problem is they DO NOT work for so many others and the Network is one very big reason. You said they are the same and you were shown why they were not.

You value what YOU value but Verizon is not going to drop their pants and stop investing to make the best network so they can save YOU money.

Well, occasionally the CEO of VZW comes on here and reads the posts. He'll probably change the plans to suit your needs even if it's unnecessary.

Ask a stupid question, get a stupid reply.

The plan isn't changing anytime soon. And, to make it clear why... 100 customers paying $30 each vs 150 paying $15 each. Which is better? (these numbers are made up just to make a point). If you find yourself in that group of 50, you're considered an "acceptable loss"

I guess I can not see why the love fest with VZW. People get on here and defend their pricing like it is their child...not sure if it is because you are worried about losing your job if you don't and are placed here or what.

People make a legitimate arguement. As customer base goes up so does revenue. Is it costly to maintain the network of course and nobody doubts that. However, basic economic principles don't seem to apply to VZW. They are adding customers hand over fist as many have stated in previous posts and yet they continue to raise prices not services. They do not increase minutes, discounts or included services. Now i understand people will say hey if your willing to pay for it then why would they change...to those people ...

Well, a simple no isn't going to get these people to move on. We have to explain to them why their question is stupid.

Good question: Are there any newer plans coming out soon?
Bad question: Is Verizon ever going to lower their prices?

New added features/savings:

Friends and Family:
Available at no extra cost to any plans above the most basic of the basic. This allows people to either cut down on their plan (go from the 2100 to 1400 minute plan) or drop their landline all together because now they can add landlines to their "in calling"

Connect plans:
Previously if a customer wanted unlimited data and email to a non smartphone they would need to pay an additional $20 a month to get it. Now, if you have unlimited texting, you can add unlimited data and mobile email for just $10 a month. In addition to this, verizon's "dumbphones" are increasingly able to handle more advanced web features, such as flash videos, full HTML browsing, etc. Features increasing, cost...
