Verizon OTA Programming
Hey Everyone -
We are going to start selling Verizon in a few months and I was wondering if the OTA Programming is the same as Alltel. I heard there is an extra number after the *228 that brings you right into activation. Thanks!

If you choose option 1 it will program the phone. Option 2 updates your roaming capabilities and option 3 would let you do an esn change OTA.

If you dial *22899 send after activating in the system, it will activate the phone.

Be careful with this, though, it doesn't activate all phones properly in all parts of the country.

just dail *228 and do what it asks you can even do esn changes this way just don't be lazy do it the correct way and heck maybe since alltel phones program themselves maybe verizon will use that as well

I am not really sure how they do it I just know that most of the standard phones would get a signal from the towers and they would power off then power back on and they are programmed this is true because I was a sales rep for alltel
