Saved voicemails to MP3?

I have about 12 old messages (some more than two years old) on my account, and I want to save them as MP3 files, as high quality as possible. I see Verizon offers a service to back them up, but at a steep $5 each.

Anyone have experience in this?

Verizon does not actually provide the service. There is an outfit called CBW Productions, Inc that will do the work... Linking below...

I have a phone with Visual Voicemail, and I simply archive the file to my memory card.

My wife wanted to save a voicemail, but she didn't have VVM, so I had her forward the message to my number, and then I saved it to my memory card.

The file format is a phone format, so I used a media converter to move it to MP3. From there I was able to store it as MP3, and even trim it down to certain parts and make it a ring tone.

Visual Voicemail isn't on every phone, but it's $2.99/mo. If your phone doesn't do it, see if you can find someone who's Verizon phone does do it and save it to a memory card.

I've saved birthday messages, messages where someone told me a relative died, and even a message telling me my divorce was final. It's nic...
