Porting to an employee account

DoubleHelix

Apr 17, 2009, 9:49 PM
Ok I understand that all employees can (finally) add and remove features etc and even add a line to a family share plan on the "My Verizon" web site.

So if I want to add a family share line to a relative's account, I knw we can do it on the web and poof by magic, the ESN is activated, we do a *228 and the phone works.

Now for the tough question: How do I port my existing phone numner (in the same name as the employee) to be ported to that phone? I know in the stores there is a porting procedure but how do you do it on an employee account? Call Employee accounts?

Northeast region.
Thanks

Easiest way I've found is to add a line through my verizon and get issued a temporary number. Once you receive the phone through fed ex call employee phone program and have them port in the other number to replace the temp. And make sure when you call you have all the old service providers account info i.e. Account number, billing address, password/pin, and account holders ssn.

Read the employee phone program website. The employee phone team is unable to initiate ports. You are supposed to have the line ported in at a store and then call employee customer service to have them move the line into your employee account. Do the port-in with existing equipment and no contract, if possible, so you can purchase a phone through MyVerizon later.

An employee customer service rep should know this.

I had to do this myself last year. The reason why you want to use your own equipment is to avoid running into any phone restrictions. I let my fiancee buy a Dare when employees weren't allowed to have them, and she had to return it so I could AOL the line into my account, or she was going to have to wait a year before I...

I ported 3 lines from a sprint account to my employee account about 6 months ago.. I started by getting temp numbers and new phones via the EPP then had to complete a form to have the LNP TNC completed... Took about 3 days to complete once I submitted the form...

Weird, but good to hear. I ported in that number sometime last summer.

It used to be so much easier. And cheaper. My first employee account was 500 minutes for $12.50. I added m2m or n&w at some point and it went up to $17.50.
