If I was going to "jump ship" for a phone, it would be the G1.. but I'm still here because the only two carriers who work up here are ATT and Verizon. (and verizon is the only 3g). Phones are only cool when they work as they were intended to work.

Amen to that !! I remember the old vzw commerical a few years back which talked about a phone has a lot of cousins on other networks that don't work but vzw's does!

Why jump ship when WebOS will almost inevitably find its way to VZW, anyway? It's not as though WebOS is exclusive to Sprint. It'll be featured on any of Palm's mid-range devices, while Garnet OS and Windows Mobile will round out the lower-end and "professional" devices from Palm's line-up. This is already confirmed.

I definitely want a WebOS device. If it isn't the Pre, then it'll be something else. I'm not too worried. Besides, it'll be a while before I'm eligible to upgrade, so I hope that a WebOS device makes its way to VZW sometime during my wait.

I'd consider it...again there is the problem of the sweet deal that I am getting with Verizon. I called Sprint and asked them if I could bring my Curve, 6900, Flipshot and Pearl over to them and they said no. Even if this Pre is the next best thing to sliced bread I still have those other phones sitting out there. Now if Sprint were to Price match and trade in my phones for same models Sprint branded then I would do it. But...they won't do it. I already asked.

price match... sprint has the cheapest prices(out of the 4 major), unless you getting a company discount or Verizon screwed your account up so bad they gave you a retention plan, i don't see how you could have a cheaper plan with the same features.
Verizon blackberry
99.99 unlim talk
20.00 for 5k msgs
44.99 for blackberry pack
9.99 for vz navigator

equals a 174.97 bill, but i guess you get what you pay for.

But why add a $20 text plan to an individual line when you get unlimited for $20 more anyway?

Vz Navigator is also not required for GPS (but it is a really sweet app)

Your links won't work, they were based off form submissions that expired after a certain amount of time.

For what it's worth, I did the same trick as you, but I found the $119.99/mo Unlimited talk including unlimited text and added the $29.99/mo Email & Web for Blackberry, which is unlimited as well, and had no problems. But I'm not about to link them, seeing as how it won't work for you to click on it - just like clicking on your link.

You DON'T HAVE TO get the plan the way you clicked on it. THERE ARE cheaper ways of doing it. In fact, my own personal line is not the same as how you selected it.

I didnt think one was needed. . . . . . you explained why my links were not working, i explained how i got there, i selected a blackberry world edition phone (8830) and then it asked me to select a plan and those were the options it gave me. . . . pretty simple IMO

And your uneducated site navigation made you select the 44.99 BES plan instead of the compatible 29.99 BIS plan.

Beware, some of us on this website actually know what we're talking about and can't be blindsided by your tomfoolery.

We were having something of a conversation. I was checking to make sure you were still in there with me. I'm not keeping a score or anything (like some others might do on this site from time to time), I just wanted to make sure you understood that there are multiple avenues to take on the web site, and yours wasn't the most cost-effective. I saw you were still posting on other threads, so I assumed you were ignoring this one. I apologize for the off-base assumption.

44.99 is for BlackBerry Enterprise Service. The simply everything plan specifically states that it will include Blackberry Internet Service, which is 29.99 with Verizon. If you really want to compare apples to apples, and include VZNavigator to match the Telenav service with Sprint (which is kind of stretching it) it would be $160 a month with Verizon vs. $100 at Sprint.

And it's always important to consider why the Simply Everything plan was put into place, and why quarter over quarter Verizon adds customers and Sprint loses them, even with these price points. Sprint customers are not happy with their service for some reason, and this plan is in existence for that exactly. It's there to prevent further hits to the customer base and a...

And for most people, calling 10 people for free on the $59.99 900 minute plan is just as good as unlimited minutes completely.

Counting that it would be $120 a month vs. $100. Keep in mind you will also get unlimited N&W, Unlimited M2M to 80 million customers (that's 30 million more than Sprint).

Haha! So despite these quantifiable facts, you're still better?

And I wouldn't say all Sprint customers are unhappy with their service. If they are in a low coverage area, maybe, but in my area, the majority of customers are happy as clams.

I'm still better? I was just correcting the previous poster about price differences. I didn't say anything about me personally being better than a cell phone carrier.

Although now that you bring it up I do think I am better than all the cell phone carriers. I'd choose myself over them.

Thank you for explaining the $29.99 vs. the $44.99 further. I didn't get into details simply because I made the assumption that people who frequent this board for more than a week have read about the difference, at least on Verizon. Data plans seem to be brought up constantly, much to my own dismay.

And there's another post in there my MarkCohen stating that people in his area stick with and love Sprint. Good for them. They don't feel this way in my area. I guess you can't base a blanketing comment on the experience in your area. However, as AshDizzle points out, there are hard nationwide-based numbers to prove his point. In the 4th quarter of 2008, Sprint lost 1.3 million customers while AT&T and Verizon were adding about 1.5 mill...

Yea I can say 110% No one likes the customer service of sprint They love playing the transfer game which sucks ! Then you get transfered to another rep and guess what they can't help you either then you get transfered yet again! By now you are getting angry because of this and you complain about it then they say I have to transfer you again then they hang up and you call back and the never ending cycle continues !!
