I currently have the LG8700... I love this phone, but I want something new. I've been looking at the LG Chocolate 3 and the Samsung Sway.
What are your opinions on these phones?
And knowing that I love my 8700 and how it functions, do you think either of these phones would be a good fit? If not, do you have any suggestions?
...
If you've had the 8700, my obvious suggestion would be the Chocolate 3. Why? It's a flip, great pone (hardly anyone has had problems with it), you can scroll through your phone menu from the front screen, and it's LG. Without really getting too technical, I say this would be a no-brainer type decision.

The Choc3 is practically the 8700 replacement. Don't let the inherited name fool you.
The Sway is a decent phone. Sliders always require a little more care than flips - if you scratch, crack, or smash your screen, what are you going to do? When you have one screen you put yourself at risk of having a junker phone if you're accident prone or tougher on phones.
The biggest reason I see avoiding the Sway is the battery. We have a high incident rate of battery life issues on the phone. From what I've been able to tell, if you do a lot of texting you'll burn through the battery in half the time you'd use up another phone.
And for the LG naysayers out there, my wife uses the LG VX-8560 (AKA the Chocolate 3), and it's not perfect. ...

Is that another way of saying Samsung sucks?

I can't help you w/an answer, but I have to say that my 8700 has been my most favorite phone EVER! I'm due for my NE2 and I'm going to get this 8700 replaced (the screen has an issue) and hang onto my credit until something appeals to me. I'm thinking of going 'smartphone' but am not sure I want that route yet.
~sigh~ I love my 8700.

I personally did not like the C3 at all. It was one of the reasons why I left VZW. While it is an ok phone, it scratches easily, can't a hold a signal and it's just like all of the LG's I've had save for the EnV. It will work great for the first 2 months and then as you use, it begins to degrade...
I think that most of VZW phones are crap right now and if I had to go with something, the only thing I would consider is the new Nokia 7205.
...
LOL Nokia on CDMA? I think I'll pass.
...
The Nokia 6256i is still to this day the best phone I have ever had on VZW and I have had about 20 phones in 7 years.
What exactly is so wrong with the 7205 or this just an off-handed comment? Seriously if you know something let me know because a friend of mine with VZW is looking for a new flip and told her about this.
