NEW YORK (AP) -- Verizon Wireless is set to announce Thursday that subscribers on some qualifying plans will be able to pick five or 10 phone numbers that they can call for free, without drawing down their plan's minutes.
There is no added charge for the service. It mimics a popular feature called "My Circle" at Alltel Corp., a smaller carrier that Verizon Wireless bought in January.

It sounds like if you're already on the qualifying price plan threshold that there isn't any additional cost to this?
I have a 2100 Select FSP ($110 + $9.99 + $9.99). If we get an extra 10 numbers for free, this will be friggin sweet!

This feature only applies to the Basic Family Plans. So, if you have a higher plan, you can't take advantage of it.
It's interesting -- Verizon is not offering this to it's best customers. Not good.

according to their site online you have to have the 1400 min plan to get the friends and family on connect plans. And it starts at 10 numbers.

Exactly as long as the family plan is 1,400 minutes or higher your good to go.. Regardless if its the select or premium plan...
