Coverage Help!

I'm a manager of an at&t agent, in western part of VA.

currently moving to a very rural area (but only about 15 minute commute from my store, but besides that)

i checked verizonwireless.com coverage viewer and it shows id have CDMA coverage at the address (because we all know GSM sucks in rural areas), but can any VZW internal employee double check that for me?

also which are the best phones for coverage for CDMA (its been a while since i've worked with CDMA), is Samsung pretty dependable?

heres the address; thanks for your help!

The address is in a 1X region, meaning they have access to the VZW network, including broadband/vcast coverage. About a mile to the left is an extended network where they may not have full access to data (the extended network forms a "U" shape around the address. It should be a good area for service, slightly depending on the local terrain and density of the house structure. Hope this helps.

No problem. I'd recommend possibly any LG device, they're really reliable (Chocolate 3). Samsung is pretty good as well. Worst case scenario, you can buy a Network Extender, its a new accessory ($250 without a contract). It works with your broadband intertnet router and creates a cellular signal (check the reviews). Also, there's always the 30 day Worry Free Guarantee so if the service doesn't meet your standards then you can return the device and cancel without an early termination fee (but there will be a $35 restocking fee)

I don't know if the battery issue was ever solved on the Motorola W755, but I've had good luck, signal wise with this phone. I'm trying to work on getting an extended battery to make my phone last a bit longer. The regular battery sucks the life out my phone.

While I've not used my phone in areas with mountains or major hills, my Samsung a930, a650, and my Motorola W755 have worked in rural areas (providing the rural area is 850, and not 1900, as I was in a rural area in Wisconsin, and 1900 was poorly built along I-43, and couldn't use the weak signal off of I-43).

No, Pre Paid can use Alltels network without Roaming charges now.

So you good man. You have both Alltel and Verizon in your area.

If you are looking at verizon, I would HIGHLY suggest an LG phone. In my opinion, they seem to work best with Verizon's network.

I use the EnV2 and I love it. Great battery life, great reception, and it's solid enough to stand up to a few drops.
