another insurance question...vzw reps
i have a phone that i accidently cracked the screen on. i have equip protection through assurion, but i have to wait till next check to get up enough $$ for the insurance deductible. my g/f gave me an old verizon phone she had laying around that still works...what i want to do is do an esn swap to the phone she gave me as a temp phone. can i still get a replacement for my phone, or will my equip protection on my plan only apply to the phone activated on the acct? i doubt they will replace the phone she gave me, its ancient, and is uninsurable anyways since its a couple years old. i guess a viable solution would be i could swap back to my broken phone when i have the money for the deductible, i mean it still works, sending/recieving call...

get current phone info, call cs to swap esn's ins will stay on account since you are getting ready to file claim. make sure you file claim w/in 60 days.

i work for vzw.. i see this quite often.. wat u should do is contact asurion and let them know your situation and start a insurance claim. once you start the claim, you ask for a replacement for your phone w/ the cracked screen... you should be given a claim id number and then explain to (ask) them that you need a phone so you have a phone that you can use temporarily. make sure if the claim is done, you can still replace the phone you had not the temp phone. once you get an ok, call vzw and do the esn swap for ur girlfriends old phone and u should be squared away. if u do the insurance claim after you do the esn swap, they may try to replace the last used phone on the account-only.. depends largely on who you talk to... i've seen them a...
