VZW worry free guarantee ?

Hello,

I have a LG4400 phone for 6 months, but suddenly the phone does not have any reception at my home. (It used to have 1 or 2 bar of reception before).

Would I be able to bring the phone to the local VZW store and exchange for a new phone under the warranty or their guarantee ?

Thanks in advance.

I work in the Michigan/Ohio markets....I belive that would be considered an in warranty defect, and it should be covered. IF you want to make sure, call customer service, and ask them, and if they say yes, MAKE SURE THEY REMARK YOUR ACCOUNT.

That's not particularly great advice above:

The Worry Free Guarantee means that you will be satisfied with any equipment purchase from Verizon Wireless. The Worry Free Guarantee gives you 15 days to try out any new piece of equipment and return it without cost or penalty of breaking any contract you might have signed to get a reduced price.

The Worry Free Guarantee is entirely separate from the warranty for a piece of equipment provided by the manufacturer of that equipment (Motorola, Samsung, LG, etc.)

Almost all cellular phones are going to come with a one year warranty. The warranty will cover any equipment malfunction from an uninduced defect: in other words, if you have a phone that stops working through no fault of your own,...

Also:

The insurance deductible in the Asurion market is $50 to have the phone replaced. The insurance deductible in the Lockline market is $35 to have the phone replacd. They are both pretty quick with replacements, turn around time is generally within 72 hours.

Additionally, while you'll always have the Worry Free Guarantee if you purchase a phone directly from a Verizon Wireless Store, Kiosk, or Telesales/Customer Service representative; many indirect agents (Wireless stores that are licensed to sell our service, but are not actually VZW employees, e.g. Radioshack) require secondary contracts NOT regulated by Verizon Wireless that can require you to keep service for a certain period of time. A few stores do not have return policie...

My phone was stolen and I had Asurion which was the worst experience that I ever encountered. After going through their required forms from the police etc, they finally sent me a phone that was broke, untested to point that it had the persons old phone book in the phone. After telling them of this they refused to send me a new or refurbished phone till they had this broken piece of garbage back they sent me. So my message to ASURION is Do you hear me know!

You likely were shipped that phone by mistake. It was probably a phone someone sent to us as damaged, which instead of being destroyed was placed in the warehouse. However, it was still our property, and as such, must be returned before we can issue a new phone.

That makes me feel so much better that you screwed up and I have to pay the price. If you are going to destroy the phone anyway, what would the difference be if you sent me one that works in the meantime? I even offered my credit card as assurance. Do YOU hear me now!

Verizon does have the attitude 'Screw the Customer'.... Just as a note, when the T720 came out, I had it exchanged 5 times before I gave up.... Yes... I was suckered by Verizon... After the 3rd time I just wanted to return it, but they used there charm for me to try again and then again... By this time, the 15 days had gone by and the phone still didn't work... The 'Worry Free Guarantee' was over... They would not return or exchange for a different model... I was then told it was a manufacturer issue and I could exchange only for another T720, or send it to Motorola... Defective from day one, and I was scammed by Verizon... I was told I could buy a new phone at full price... After months of fighting, I was told credit would be issued as long...

I have to say that of all the carriers that I have ever been with Verizon has by far been the absolute best, winner hands down with no competition. The service is a 15 on a 1-10 scale compared to Cingular, ATT, TMobile, Sprint and others, I have tried them all and have paid early termination fees with all of them because the service sucked so bad. I have had Verizon for 4 years now and am 150% satisfied. Anytime I have ever had a problem with my phone they have done everything they can to help me get a new one. I have had more than 10 phones in 4 years, If I become unhappy with the phone I do all the steps they tell me to, including the *228 option 2 to update my phone and at the end if it does not help they have always gotten me into a ...

I agree. In addition, CR's great review of VZW has encouraged them to deteriorate. Although customer service answers quickly, their customary response is "We're #1" (i.e., scr*w you)

Kindly customer service folks have offered things that later customer service folks have removed from my contract.

Note a 15 day wait period is up before you receive your first bill (that would verify that you got all that they offered.)

for californians:
CPUC & CalPirg have replied to troubles thus:

We are currently working right now to pass a Telecommunication Bill of
Rights through the PUC that would require a 30 day waiting period,
unfortunately now any trial period is instituted at the whim of the company.
You can ask the PUC to hurry u...
