I was in the VZW store today and I saw that the new PTT released today. I was waiting for this, however I was a bit diasppointed to see that the Motorola V65P was not released. Does anyone know when this phone will be available for the new PTT service? Thanks

i think they wanna see how well the PTT2 does before they invest in a whole bunch more phones.

Do you have any idea when I can expect that phone? My whole company is waiting for that particular phone. We all have very old Nokia's for our business phones and we are upgrading, but the executives have decided that they want the v65p. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the PTT and it is great. I have the LG VX4700 it has the longest battery time for all of the PTT phones and it is lighter than the V60p and the V65p. Also with the New Lg you can use the PTT when the flip is closed you can't on the V60/65P

yeah, for sure. the v60p looks pretty good, but it is the most expensive one.

v60p = 119.99 -$50 MIR = 69.99*
LG4700 = 149.99 -$50 MIR = 99.99*
Kyocera K444 = 99.99 - $50 MIR =49.99*
Motorola t333 = 29.99

* buy one, get up to 4 Kyocera-444 for free as long as you sigh two year contracts. the plans are a lot cheaper this time around too.

It does not look near as good as the v65p. Especially for a business purpose.

The 4700 is ugly, and does not look professional. It looks like a toy. We cannot have that in our business. I normally like LG's as well, however my upper management prefers Motorolas and it looks much more professional.

All I can tell you is invest in extra batteries and auto charges because you will sure need them with the V60/V65p. And when you say Professional I guess if I was your business customer I would rather know that you would be able to call me and would care less if you even had the old brick cell phones just as long as you could call me

The last good Motorola imo was the Startac series including the Timeport. The v60 series is ok cause of the metal casing, but the charging system blows.

the charging system is the worst one i ave ever seen. i also think the motorola menus are amongst the most confusing to use secong only to the ericssons.

yeah... hands down audiovox is the worst. even the 8940 thier "top of the line" phone is horrible. i'd reccommend a Kyocera 404 before one of those.

You have to be referring to Cingular's Nokia's. VZW Nokia's are horrible for reception. My LG and my friend's V710 blow the nokia's away as far as reception is concerned.

Well, everyone here has talked me into the LG4700. And I know I had many problems with my v710, so I am going to try to recommend that my company goes with the 4700 instead of the v65p.

Thanks, Everyone, for all the help.

If only Verizon knew how to market something like PTT...
They need to come out with a handful of phones that offer lots of features plus PTT.
They also need to offer some incentive to existing customers to come in and buy a PTT phone and the service.

Just throwing it out there does nothing... If I go and get PTT there will not be anyone for me to use it with!
INCENTIVES!!!

If only Verizon had introduced an EV-DO phone that was PTT

the number of people who bought new phones to get EV-DO would also have had the incentive to upgrade to a PTT plan (making verizon more money) and helped increase the number of customers with PTT which would keep increasing....

Can you imagine the size of EV-DO PTT phone? Take a good look at vx8000. Now double it... 🙂

PTT has nothing to do with the size of the phone...take a look at the sprint phones, which are full featured and have PTT...you can even look at some of the nextel phones, which have gotten small.

Talking incentives I know they are offering you to upgrade and get the upgrade price with out being close to your contract date. They have also redid there price plans so now you can get a family share plan were as before you couldn't. This should atract some people. I agree that there phones should have more features like sprints do but we know this will never happen in our life span. Verizon is to slow to get anything decent in the market. You have seen what they did to the V710.
