Storm "Plans"

Like many current Verizon customers, the Storm potential has me interested. Any idea on plan costs?

On the Vodaphone UK website the presentation is 'better' than their US cousin's and plan pricing is listed.

Examples:

Phone is "Free"- 18 month Contract
1500 mins and unlimited texts
Unlimited Mobile Internet and BlackBerry email
55 pounds = $84.00

Phone is "Free" - 18 month Contract
600 mins and Unlimited texts
Unlimited Mobile Internet and BlackBerry email
40 pounds= $61.00

Thanks for the replies. I am a bit confused with the different plan options needed to make use of the Storm's features. It appears that the Storm is being marketed to a 'general audience' (challenging the iPhone) rather than strictly to business (needing push-mail).

For voice, texting, data/web-access/browsing, and email, what are the plan components needed to make the purchase of the Storm worthwhile, versus a non-Blackberry PDA-phone?

Voice - 450 min - $39.95
Voice - 450 min - Unlimited Prem. $79.95
Blackberry Unlimited Data - 49.99

BlackBerry Nationwide Email - 450 min - $79.99

Will the BB Nationwide Email provide all that's needed? (voice/web/data/email)

If you want data/voice/and text I think there should be a Blackberry Nationwide Unlimited Messaging/Data plan that is $99.99. That would give 450 minutes, unlimited text, and unlimited data.

You could also do the regular $39.99 plan. Add a $10 text package or even $20 for select and then the $29.99 data package. That would work if you don't need corporate email/BES.

The second plan you mentioned is perfect for me. I would like the navigator too, but is that available as a one time, as needed option also?
Thx,
Joey

This line is leading me to believe I have to change my plan to be able to buy the Storm. Right now I can just add the Blackberry $30 fee to my plan ($55 for 1000 min) AC believe it or not, and start using any other Blackberry. This one is going to be different?

Legaleese. Before Nationwide existed, these disclaimers used to read "New 2 year activation on an America's Choice Voice & Data Plan required." Even still, you could add the device and the feature to a non-America's Choice Voice & Data (bundled) plan, or even to a grandfathered plan in most cases.

I initially read the disclaimer to say it needed to be on a Nationwide plan. Later, is noted the lack of the word "required" in conjunction with Nationwide. Phones like Voyager and Dare state something to the effect of "Nationwide plan required."

Still, there' no telling. I wouldn't put it past my own company to require you move to a Nationwide plan, but with a lack of information, the best I can say is expect it to need to be changed an...

I've read that they are coming out with a global email and messaging plan as well. But all of the regular plans and features will be available for the device itself. They are not coming up with a special plans/features just for the device itself.

FYI: I saw a post about the premium plan. The blackberry cannot be on the premium price plan.

What features do you mean? The premium plan comes with unl mbs for browsing the internet, mobile email, vz navigator, unl messages and the vcast vpak.

1. With the data plan, you will have unl mb usage for browsing the web.

2. The navigator will not be included in the plan but you can get it for 9.99/month or 2.99/day

3. Mobile email- the blackberry let's you set up diff email addresses to be able to have those emails sent to your phone. Yahoo, msn, aol and your work email if you have the appropriate plan.

4. Vpak- you won't be able to have access to what comes with the vpak like the streaming videos because the device is not capable of that, but you can watch you tube videos and other sites like that

5. Messaging- you can g...

There's always a lot of confusion about Premium plans, and the comment I'm replying to is correct.

Basically, Premium plans are for non-PDA style phones. PDA-style phones can be on Basic or Select, with an additional fee for e-mail access.
