I worked for Verizon Wireless in a direct Call Center and Direct Sales in equal for almost 3 years. late last year, i had an illness had to apply for std and in essense it was HELL...

I transferred to a new area and my symptoms came back, i tried to email my sup at the time but he adv to wait until he comes back from vacation...i had used all my sick days and vacation time due to this in a few short weeks.

i couldn't wait so i had to go back home for medical treatment (home is 8 hours away from where i was working )

i let me sup know, i did not put in a 2 week notice as i couldn't , i was in a call center with hundreds of people so my 2 week notice really did not cause anyone harm imo, this was back in May..

what are my chances ...

It is a possibility. You may get rehired, it is worth a try. There are other options you could have used when you were sick that would have save your job.

i'd day 50/50 chance a lot of it depends on your previous performance. it doesn't matter if you work in a call center with 4 or 5000 people you have a sup who is responsible for about dozen or so people and 2 week notice is a must on any job.

i know vzw is hurting for good reps so if you are one of them your chances just went up

Hey guys, thanks for the responses..

I did apply for STD and fmla when this was going on..which was hell to say the least, i was approved !!

so why this is weird is because i was working in PA at a store on while i was on std, my symptoms went away, and while i was actually out on std , i agreed to go back to call center down south.

when i moved 8 hours away, my symptoms came back ( 2.5 weeks later), and all my docs, family everything was back in pa, so i had to take urgent action..

so i guess i will call hr to see if at all any options.. thanks guys !
