Another voyager question...

Howdy everybody,

It looks like I'm going to be sticking with verizon.

I traded the boulder for the voyager last week and so far I absolutely love it; but I can't seem to find answers to a question or three. Can anyone help?

1) is there a way to use speakerphone without it having to be open?

2) is there a way to retrieve data from a mini-sd card that was used with my old sprint phone, or is that data in some way have some kind of coding on it from Sprint that prevents the vzw phone from reading it? (If so I understand just curious)

3)An associate of mine just got this phone too, switching from a bb curve. She has I belive a 4mb mini-sd card and showed me close to 500 songs she had. She said her husband was able to take those o...

1.) No, you cannot use the speaker unless your phone is open. I think this is because the internal speakers are used, rather than just the earpiece on the front.

2.) If it's an actual MiniSD card, you should be able to still use it on your new Voyager. I'm not sure though, so try putting it in the phone, and if it works, it works. If it doesn't, maybe you should contact someone from Verizon and talk to them about it. But, like you said, it might not because Sprint's coding could be different.

3.) I don't think you have to have Rhapsody. You should just be able to insert the card into your computer/card reader/etc., find the device under My Computer, open it, and drag files to it from wherever you store your music. 😁

1) l0v3_l0v3 is right about the speakerphone. It has to be open.

2) The Voyager has a slot for a MicroSD card so mini's won't fit. I've noticed people going from a different brand of phone like Motorola to LG that the card needs to be formatted to the new phone which deletes everything on the card so you have to back everything up that's on the card first. If you're going from a Sprint LG to the Voyager it might work right off the bat, but I don't know for sure.

3) l0v3_l0v3 is right here again. You do not need Rhapsody. All you have to do is find the sound file on your computer of whatever you want to go on your phone, copy it into the my_music folder of the memory card and put it back into the phone and it should sync it the first ti...

1) yeah

2) assuming both phones have the same type of memory card, you should be able to save or transfer all your data to the memory card. Seeing as how Verizon uses a standard format on all of their phones, you WILL end up having to put the card into a computer and move all those files to the correct folder.

Verizon phones have four main folders on the memory card: my_pix, my_flix, my_sounds, and my_ringtones. Your Sprint phone would probably save a picture in some sort of picture folder, and seeing how Sprint wouldn't be likely to use the same exact folder naming, you'd have to go into Sprint's picture folder and cut/paste all those pictures to the my_pix folder on the same card.

Then the pictures should work. Again, assuming ...

DO NOT REFORMAT YOUR CARD!!!

you will loose everything

all you do it this, turn phone off, put card in phone, turn back on. go to setting and memory and change everything to 'save to card'

take a pic and save it. all your LG folders are now there, and the others from old phones are too. take out card, and put in computer and open in 'folder view' then, take everything from old pics folder and put in new pix folder, same with music and vids and sounds. then delete the old folders you dont need.

MUSIC!!!
open card on computer in 'folder view' then open 'my music' folder. simply drag and drop all your songs into that folder. the ones that do not play in your phone probably need the name changed (shortened or remove ' " / things lik...
