Hey

I recently purchased the Voyager and have been pretty satisfied with the phone thus far.....I have a few gripes, basically the battery life sucks....I dont know how many times I have had the phone opened to send text messages and then I find out a day or so later the battery is dead cause I had the phone opened. I like the phone but am kicking myself for not waiting for something a little better to come out. Anyone got any ideas? I was actually looking at the Samsung with the flip up keyboard but found that it got mixed reviews.

Thanks

two words -

software update.

apparantly the update adjusts the amount of resources required by the softwares on the phone.

If you like the phone other than the battery life, get the extended battery.

Personally, I have the Voyager and I hate it. It has a text limit, so you cant write very long emails, the keyboard feels like pressing on alluminum, it clicks everytime you press a key... ugh. The touchscreen might as well be nonexistant, almost pointless as most apps or games dont work.

The browser is the only thing worthwhile, and it still is annoying as scrolling with either the touchscreen (freezes or accidently pushes links), or the directional arrows. Most of the web based email is annoying to use as I am constantly switching from touchscreen to keyboard. Sometimes even the web bas email will get deleted instantly if you have to clr to erase a typo... you risk losing an entire email.

The notepad has a limit so forget keep notes ...

Wow you pointed out exactly what I do not like about it. It's amazing how all the Voyager fanboys sweat the hell out of this phone. I have had people suggest this phone to me cause I text alot but the keyboard on the BB Curve was too small and people touted as the best text phone out there....WTF?!? thats a crock. So now I'm stuck with this POS and guess will have to look elsewhere to find a phone that suits me. Personally I want to terminate my contract and sign up with ATT to grab an iphone...Visual Voicemail is free on that and I have to pay $5 extra a month....sucks man.

The curve is a great keyboard. people forget, that sometimes it actually puts more strain on your thumbs when you use a wide keyboard like the voyager. I prefer slightly narrower keypads like blackberries or treos (and I do have fairly large hands)

And isnt visual voicemail only $1.99? Not $5

Last but not least....you do pay for visual vmail on att. Its called the iphone data plan which is 30 bucks for crappy 3G coverage. The vcast data pack is less than 20 bucks. if you ad VV, thats $22 vs $30.

there is no free Visual voicemail with either company- why should they give something for free when it cost alot of money to make the technology amd to run the technology.

My mom has had this phone since April and my brother got it yesterday. My mom's only complaint has been that it's a bit too bulky, but she loves it other than that. She texts all day long using the QWERTY keyboard and her phone never dies, so I'm assuming she's already gotten the software update.
