What is the best Verizon PHONE?
All I want is a GOOD PHONE.
I don't want to listen to music.
I don't want to take pictures.
I don't want to send or receive text messages.
I don't want to read my email.
I don't want to watch TV.
I don't want to surf the NET.
I don't want GPS.
I know most phones come with this stuff, but I don't care because I don't use them.
The things that are important to me, are in order:
Reception
Voice quality (of callers)
Voice quality (on the other end)
Battery life
i have bb curve and love it!
It has the ability to do some of the things you do not want to do, but that does not mean you have to use them.
As far as a phone, it was the best I have ever owned for reception, and call quality was fine. I used it at the foot of a 200' cliff at the beach with no problems. I always plug in my phones to charge at night, but tis battery life was fine for me.

Motorola w755 or
Morotola w385
They're simple, not many bells and whistles and I've seen Motorolas get better service than LG or Samsung in weaker VZW signal areas.
If you're in an area with great signal anyway, I'd say the LG VX5400.
All these modles are affordable and aren't loaded with features you don't need.

Ain't life grand?
There was a time when the kind of phone you purchased differented itself in the quality of service you might recieve. Those days are largely over. Most, if not all phones are good. What matters now is cell tower placement, terrain, and the quality of those towers. I will say the Verizon does regulary test their towers and Consumer Reports rates them as the most reliable carrier. So it only comes down to what phone you want. Again, I recommend for your needs the LG5400.
Alternatives to "PHONE":
- "*Phone*" (many text editors convert the characters between asteriks to Bold, if they support Bold displays),
- something like "Basic Phone" or "Phone for Voice".
