I know you used to have a winmo device the sch-i730 and now you have a curve, which device do you like better??

Did you use third party apps for the winmo device and do you have any for the curve?

If so what are they and were they free for either device, i just got a curve and i think a winmo device would be better for me, just looking for help.

I use some third party software for my curve (facebook, empower html email coverter, opera mini, google maps)

I have actually never used a WinMo device. Im a mac user, so my only options for smart phones are Palm or BB. Windows mobile isn't terrible, its just not for everyone, just like BB isnt for everyone.

You need to choose the device that best meets your needs and will make your life easier. If the BB isn't doing that for you then maybe you should try a WM phone.

Ahh my apologies then i thought you had a sch-i730 i guess i got you confused with someone else on forum. I like the BB but I am more of a techy geek and want to be able to put apps(free) on a device like i can run a nintendo emulator on a WM device. Anyway I will try it out I know I have 30days to try it.

Keep in mind with your 30 day return period you only get one excange, so make sure you really like the phone you go to and check to see if it will do everything you want before buying it.

I've had several winmo phones including the i730 and I now have a Curve. Honestly I love Blackberry's, they do everything you could really ask in a phone/pda. However, my samsung i730 was honestly one of the best phones I have ever owned. I didn't have any real problems with it and I never had any freezing problems like some say they have had. If I could get a brand new i730 all over again or take my Curve I would take the i730. Great phone

At the end of the day it all depends on what you want your phone to do. The blackberry does a lot of things GOOD but does email GREAT. Winmo devices do a lot of things good as well, but 3rd party apps GREAT. BB's are very stable as well

Chris, what exactly does empower do? I have a pearl and would like something to view my email better. Do you use any other apps? I have facebook, opera mini and google maps but would like to know what other nice stuff I can do with this. Also does your google maps work with your GPS? I was wondering because of course everyone says GPS is disabled for everything but VZNav but GPS works with google maps for me.

Empower is an html email viewer. Basically it makes your email look much nicer and it makes it look more similar to what you might see in your regular email inbox. Its a pretty cool program and their is a free trial that you can download.

I have facebook, google maps, opera mini and empower. Thats all I really use right now. There is a ton of games and other apps for blackberry, it just depends on what your looking for. crackberry.com has some cool apps available and they have free ringtones!

Google maps uses your cell signal to pinpoint your location. So its not exactly precise, but it usually gets you pretty close.

I DJ occasionally so I need high quality downloads. Its just easier to pay a $1 for a song then spending 20 minutes looking for the perfect dload.

Plus I like to support some of my favorite artist. Those people work harder than you think, and I just don't agree with stealing music (even though I used to do it in college 🙂
