I'm new to the forum and without much knowledge about phones and plan. Only that I would like to upgrade to a nice phone, but staying on my mommy budget.
Well, the phone I have right now barely works, battery problems and old. I can upgrade and extend for 2 years, but without a phone credit. I have right now the family plan $70.00-20% Access discount for the first line only 1000min shared 3 addt lines. I pay about $110-130/month including all taxes. I only use it as a phone right now, but I would like to try emails, maybe text and might be using more minutes because I might be forwarding a work line to my cell. I heard somewhere on this forum that you can get $29.99 unlimited data plan on certain phones smt 5800 sv 6800 and I think 6900 ...

I would have to agree i owed the EnV and loved it. One thing that was nice is if i was in the Dr's office i could get Spongebob shows on the phone thru Vcast and it would keep my daughter busy during the wait. I just went to the EnV2 but the EnV is a great phone for a great price right now you get a lot of phone for little cash

Get an enV(2) Coming out in early may, it is slimmer, sleaker, has a better keyboard, better external keys, ...the list goes on, for $129.99. In my opinion, it is worth it to pay an extra 50 bucks to have a sleeker, more business savvy phone with better feautures, form factor, etc.

I would wait for the BB curve to be released in a couple of weeks and go that route. the phone should be affordable and the unl data plan is only $30. This phone will do the best job of handling all of your business contacts. The enV might be able to do it, but thats not really what the phone is made for.

If you want a business phone, get a pda or blackberry--you will be happy you spent the extra few bucks for a more robust device.

For the env to handle outlook you need a GIN download, wireless sync, runs $20/month plus you'll need the Vcast/Internet $15/month so the BB might be cheaper. As for your plan you may want to separate your self from the family plan and go with unlimted calling/text for $119.99/month + $30/month for the BB Data/internet = $150/month (1 line) $80.00/month (other 3 lines). or you can keep your family share and go with the $130 primary plan + $30/month internet/data and add on 3 lines at $9.99 = $190/month 2100 minutes/unlimited Messaging on all lines. gl

The Blackberry Pearl is a pretty solid device. I just got mine a couple months ago and am amazed by all the features I never thought I'd need but am using nonetheless. One big selling point about Blackberry devices in general: nearly-instant email push. IME sometimes you have to wait 15 minutes for email to get to your non-Blackberry PDA, longer if you have something like the enV and you're using its version of Wireless Sync. I timed the Pearl against my Comcast account for fun one evening (yes, I have no life, it's true) and didn't have to wait more than a couple minutes for anything.
