OK...here's my dilemma:
I am currently cust of Sprint. Within first 30 days (ends 4/26/0😎. Want to go to VZW for EnV2. But I want to keep my number. EnV2 is not available in stores til May 4th (outside of my 30 days with Sprint). Only available to order directly from VZW cust service, which I don't think I can do since I don't currently have VZW account. My options:

1) get crappy, "filler" phone through VZW til EnV2 is available in stores, and do 30-day model exchange. problem: if i don't like EnV2, I wanted to exchange it for the BB Pearl, and i wouldn't be able to, cuz you only get 1 30-day model exchange.

2) Just wait til EnV2 is out in stores, port number, and pay to cancel Sprint. Problem: lol, i have to pay to cancel.

3) Can...

Call VZW TELESALES, port in with them, and have them send you the Env2 (as long as it's available to customer service like you said)

Telesales can port you in, so that should be the answer.

This takes care of your Sprint issue, ports you to vzw, and your phone might be overnighted to you. 😁

but won't i still be phoneless for a couple days? And doing things all over the phone kinda scares me...I work in cust service for a wireless carrier, and I know how F'ed up things can get...but that might still work...thanks! 😉

Ask them to overnight it.

The important thing is getting out of Sprint on time, right? 😉

when you port your number your sprint phone will stay active till your vzw phone is activated. and your VZW phone will not activate till you recieve it in the mail and call in. so this option might still work. The other option is go to a "Good" indirecet agent most of the time they will offer multiple exchanges during the 30 days.

option 4

use an old phone to start contract w/ your # when your time is up then when env2 comes out you'll be able to get it and 1 or 2 year contract price since you've started the original contract/service w/ your own equipment

yeah, that seemed like the best option to me, too...but i'm really afraid of getting sh!t when i do try to use the 2 yr contract price...i mean, there is nothing that can make them do it for me, and I just see it being a huge hassle...

lol, i know...i'm a PITA, but i want this done with the LEAST amount of hassle, can you tell?

4) My BF has an old VZW phone that i could activate on a new line, port my number before my 30 days, and then use my "new line" discount to get the EnV2 when it comes out, since I didn't use it to open the line with, then be able to do the 30 day model exchange if I don't like EnV2. 😁

Go with option 4.... Four years ago I left Verizon and went to Sprint. (I was stupid and wanted a camera phone) After five months of bad service in my area I had enough and canceled my Sprint service. I went back to Verizon and used my old previous phone to activate new service. When I went to pay my second month's bill at Verizon, the rep informed me I was able to purchase a new phone at two year pricin...

Option 4...just make sure that your acct is notated correctly. Alot of time people don't take the effort to see that you started the line with your own phone and just assume that you didn't and tell you, you aren't elgible.

the enV 2 should appear online before the stores offer them, so check there, plus you'll get a better deal if you order it on a weekend

Melantha,

Please clarify why you wrote "...should appear online before the stores offer them, so check there, plus you'll get a better deal if you order it on a weekend"

She's talking out of her rear end, maybe? I sincerely hope that managers on the weekend aren't any more or less lenient than managers that work during the week.

Here's a better solution,

Use your boyfriend's old phone to activate service with verizonwireless and also port in your number. You wont be charge any cancellation fee with sprint.
You can use that phone until the env2 comes out in stores. Don't buy it online, why?? because it doesn't give you the chance to play around with the phone to see if you like it, and since there's only 1 exchange within the 30 days and now there is a $20 fee for the exchange (its like a restocking fee) so you want to try to avoid that. So wait for it to come out in the stores, if you don't like it, then you can get your blackberry. Just make sure you LOVE the product before getting it because it will be yours to keep for 20 months.

Like everyone else said, option 4. Make sure the rep has the account notated correctly, if you go to an indirect (make sure it is a good one) make sure they call into customer service while you are still in the store to have your upgrade date reset and account notated. If you go to a direct store (again make sure it is a good one) make sure they notate the account while you are still standing there (this way you know it is done). Keep all your paperwork and make note of the names of the people you work with (if there are problems you can refer to those reps, it should be within a close enough time period that they should remember) bring all of it with you when you go to get the EnV 2 just in case you run into any problems getting the new pho...

Just get a filler phone, exchange to the EnV2. Make sure the sales rep you buy from knows your situation and I'm sure they'll let you have one extra exchange w/in 30 days. I know I wouldn't have a problem giving a customer one extra exchange especially to a blackberry (more revenue).

I'm pretty sure the enV-2 is available via direct fulfillment (i.e. telesales). You won't be able to support your local store for another couple weeks, but I know it's out there for some people to buy.
