Looking for opinions on the Samsung SCH-i760

I have been reading this forum for a few weeks and appreciate (most of) the posters on here. Other than the anti-Verizon trolls, it's pretty imformative. I have been a Verizon customer for quite a while and my current contract ends next month and I have been looking seriously at the i760.

I searched the forums and have found several posts about the i760 before launch and soon after, but hardly any from people that actually own them. I know cnet has rated it 8 out of 10, but I am looking for any advice, pros/cons about it's use in the real world.

Thanks in advance

don't use it, but know that alot of folks that had the i730 held out, for a LONG time, just to get that phone. and they weren't disappointed. It's my favorite PDA to sell. not too much personal stuff as far as user info, but my two cents.

I have the i730, and I'm disappointed with the i760. The screen is cheap and poor quality. The keyboard is hard to type on.

I'm probably going to get the XV6800 next.

I wrote one of the reviews for the i760. Electronically it is vey nice, physically it's impossible to use

The button placement constantly makes you hang up accidentally, or change programs mid-data entry. The send and end keys are on the outside corners of the phone, right where you hold it. Samsung has a new model out in Asia that is the same physical format as the BlackjackII, but has all the Windows 6 Pro, wifi, etc on it that the i760 does- maybe it will replace the i760.

How long did you use the phone? Your review indicates that you tried it for a weekend? I've heard from some that while the buttons are somewhat awkwardly located, you get accustomed to it after some use, and then it's okay. Could you see that being true?

yes.
You might want to check out the 5800 as well. I personally like having physical number keys on the front, i find it to get annoying making calls on the 6800. If internet, email and all that jazz is your main focus get the 6800. If you want a phone to make a lot of calls, and also need internet and email, planner get the 5800.

The main features I need are the PDA and calling. The wi-fi and e-mail are secondary. I saw the HTC Touch is coming, but from what I can see, that's more of an i-phone type device and not focused so much towards PDA - is that right?

last week and asked about the HTC Touch, I got a blank stare and they had no idea what I was talking about - I hope it is coming because I am interested in seeing it.

sadly, most reps don't read up on the upcoming devices until theirVZW rep tells them to.... and my rep doesn't "have any information regarding" new devices or plans or ANYTHING until VZW infocenter tells her about them. it's kinda sad.

Quick history:
3.5+ year Verizon sales rep.
Carry two phones: Samsung i760 and LG enV
Previous three phones carried: Moto Q and HTC 6700 for 1.5 years, Moto V9m for 3 weeks
I'm something of a high-end user. I ALWAYS end up resetting my phones after having been stuck in something. I know when phones are slower or more awkward. It usually takes me a year to buy a phone. I understand my limitations, expectations, and know what I'm getting into in most cases. This is important because I live with the cons of a phone when the pros outweigh them.

On my Motorola Q (my favorite phone in many years), I knew I had something that was a little slower and a little buggy here and there. This was the phone I purchased when I transitioned from ...
