Over The Air Updates

Does anyone know when Verizon will start using OTA updates so U won't have to go into a Verizon store to get a software upgrade?

they currently over over the air transfer updates.. but some updates are too large to transmit over the air, as the technology stands at this point. look at it this way, would you rather it take up to 30 minutes just to download software to your phone that could be corrupted by the signal quality you have. where as if you take it inside for just a few minutes you won't get corrupted software. you get what im saying? im was a communications expert in the navy. and these are things we tackled constantly. imagine using a piece of paper with a bunch of wholes instead of memory card to store cryptography info on it. a piece of paper won't get corrupted as easily as a memory card can.. heat and electromagnetic waves can corrupt memory. where as it...

i also forgot.. you should dial *228 from your phone atleast 1x a month, just to have all the latest tower information for better signal quality .. i dun remember if its 1 or 2, but you only need to do one of them.. of all the vast knowledge i have. this one i can never remember, i end up doing both.. lol just to cover my bases

You only need to use option 1 the first time you program the phone. After that, it doesn't really make a difference

actually it does. they are constantly updating software in verizon systems and in thier towers.. ask customer service, or a reputable tech at a store.. it isn't required, but it helps your connection to the verizon system maintain a better signal. ok, so you buy a brand new computer. you register once and do ONE update.. what then. something changes and they realize something is wrong. how are they gonna fix it? update. its recommended, but not required. technology is ever evolving and anyone thats deep enough into communications whether its satellite tracking or UHF,VHF,LF, ULF etc.. every piece of hardware is and always will have some sort of update, and to keep up with those, its a good idea to update your phones software atleast once a ...
