Smartphone vs Blackberry decision....
I am thinking about moving to a smartphone and am contemplating a couple of details that may or may not help my decision and was wondering if I could get some feedback...or help. Currently I have a LG8300.
1. I am mostly going to use it to keep up w/ calendars I.e...outlook calendar and I suppose I will sync it w/ my home computer. I will probably use it for my gmail and possibly for my work email at some point.
2. I really really want to get and use a sling box...I have heard different things from verizon that says people's service has been cut off due to using the service...if this is the case it is possible I may switch to ATT but really don't want to.
3. I called verizon and att and straight up asked them about slingbox and ATT...

Slingbox is, or at least has been up to this point, specifically prohibited on the VZW network. Data is generally limited to 5 gigs a month, then past the 5 gigs your speed would probably be reduced immensely.
Maybe if you plan on using Slingbox a bunch, you might consider Sprint. Similar handsets, but no data limit, plus the data is much cheaper. I would suggest even trying their SERO plan. They're giving away the farm to keep/acquire custys.

Agreed, if you want to use Slingbox, then Verizon isn't for you, they stopped cutting people's service off but they will slow your speeds to a max of 200kbps

I use slingbox everyday, it's awesome! Sprints data can't be beat.

Let me know if you have any questions.

No, he was negative about Sprint giving away the farm. I know much more about SERO than most anyone, and can answer all the detail questions!

No offense but I really am not interested in Sprint...their service is substantially inferior to VZW and ATT. I have been w/ VZW for about 8-10 years now and am hesitant to move to ATT just for the use of slingbox..but that is the only other carrier I would go to.

none take I feel the same way about att and verizon!
