What is so wrong with VZW phones?! PLEASE tell me..
So I have been reading alot on here lately, and I see ALOT of people complaining about VZW phones. I don't get it.. I think we have the greatest phones, and are always coming out with new ones! We have any kind you can possibly want. Any color, style, size, price.

They want OBEX to transfer ringtones/images/etc. for free and they want a different UI for each phone. That's pretty much it...

UI=user interface. The basic operating system of a phone.

With most companies' phones, you can use the Bluetooth OBEX (Object Exchange) feature to send pics, vids, songs, and ringtones to other people that are within 30 feet. VZW restricts that on all phones but the Motorola Q, Treo 700 & 755, and maybe a couple others. Some say, "It's a security thing", others say that it's to make money. I'll let you decide.

I for-see as verizons older customers base faze out to the cheaper 65+ rate planes, leaving there tech savvy kids to become the primary customer base, verizon will run into trouble retaining and attracting those customers to keep service on restricted phones. Its all about the iphone tech savvy generation and retaining and maintaing there services.

don't worry about all the people complaining. There are plenty of people that are satisfied--they just dont speak out as often.
Most people that are pissed are more concerned with smartphones and PDAs--thats where verizon is really lacking.
People will always complain, but verizon puts more time and effort into their network as opposed to their phones.

I agree. NOTHING wrong with VZW phones. There's a huge selection of phones for all kinds of people. Young people, old people, business people. And each of those groups of people have a lot to choose from as well. Also, if you have a preference of phone manufacturer, you have your choices too since Verizon doesn't seem to be limited to just a couple of manufacturers only like some other carriers. And yes, more recently, the most popular phones are coming out in a ton of different colors too to add even more choices. And NEW phones are constantly being released. All verizon phones are clones with that same commie UI plastered all over all of them....which strips away all the cool features normal phones have....but the verizon dead heads have been using their God awful phones for so long they do not even know how many features a real phone has. The real hard core kool aid kids defend verizon's crappy line up by saying they test the phones for a very long time to make sure they work well pls, but in fact many phones make it to the shelves and they are nothing but crap..first chocolate, lg 8700 etc. Verizon blocks not only obex, but the fun out of getting a new phone you open the box and start playing with your phone until you realize it's just like the last boring one...not to mention all of their sm...

Most of at&t's phones are attrocious for UI's

As for java my expernci is i like C== as a programing language far above Java .. but yeah i can kinda see your point. But hello it's a cell phone. not a pc. I'd be far more interested in the firefox mobile browser...

My 30 days are almost up, I have an LG Voyager and love the phone, but the signal that is being sent to it is weak. The same went for the LG 8350 I had.
When I was with AT&T, the signal was strong, and the phones sucked.
I guess their is no happy medium.

Have you tried Alltel? They seem to have good native coverage in most of Wisconsin, but from the map, they may just miss your corner of the state.
