VZW sucks
I guess I'm just in a bad mood, and I'm taking out on VZW. Why can't this company get with the times and get new equipment out. The caveman discovered fire quicker than this company can come out with a smart phone that does not weigh 5 pounds and does not cost you 50 bucks a month just to get e-mail. Where is the curve VZW. Take your music and your 1.2 MP camera phones and give them away to someone who gives a s... about that crap. Good coverage will only take you so far. Everyone has good coverage. Start working on the equipment side of the equation. Can you hear me now VZW. If you can hear, you are not listening!

Both those companies have released leading edge phones with the k850 and N95. They have always made rock solid phones and most likely do not want
their phones "less than" what they are designed to do.
Second tier makers like Samsung, LG and Audiovox apparently don't care what Verizon wants to do with their phones as long as they get to sell a few phones.

Do your homework they are not $800. Try $500.

Nokia and CDMA? Yea, no. Anyone who appreciates what a device is capable of will pay that much for a device. That and your not always out that $600. There will be a better device in a year I'll want, so I'll sell my Nokia for I'm gonna say $450+ because it will still be an amazing phone. I buy a V3 and go to sell it tomorrow I'm gonna get $50 out of it. If you truly care about your service and phone then you'll get what's going to work for you. No the N95 isn't for everyone but you can't take anything away from those ten people that do have it.

I lead a group of people that all use VZW for the coverage. That is why I do not switch. It would cost them money to call me. This is not about me, it is about a company that needs to offer more than just coverage. As I said in the last post, everyone will have great coverage in a short period of time and they will be charging less for it. If were just me, I would have changed a year ago.

Doesn't Verizon have nights and week ends free calling to anyone anywhere? You would only miss those pesky daytime calls. My family up north has to pay to make a daytime call to me. So be it. I pay for what I want not whats slightly less expensive for them.

As far as your actual post goes I guess I could feel your pain with pda's and smartphones if I actually used one. But as far as phones go I have looked around at the phones all the other carriers offer. There is not one phone out there I would rather have than any of the vzw phones I've had.

As for not having a solution, VZ has released more than 10 phones in the last few months. If you can't find something you like you'll never be happy. Go with a different carrier - no one will care. You're probably a customer who just wants to bitch and moan anyway.

No cell phone company is perfect in all catogories as you might think. Verizon has I think the best customer service of all. You can't compare GSM to CDMA not the same. Gsm phones come out like a dime a dozen since there is less involved than CDMA. Verizon also really checks out there phones sometimes maybe not as good as they should but better than some. Take the Iphone that was a rush to get that out and look at the people who had problems with that.
I am not saying Verizon is perfect because they are not. But they are better than others.

Over a year ago, I left Cellular One (now part of AT&T) for Sprint. Seeing I was raoming in my own city with Sprint, I changed to Verizon. The signal back then was weak, so I changed back to Cell One.

Last week I left AT&T and the iPhone behind and ported to Verizon and I could not be happier. In this last year, the signal has become stronger, and VCast is great.
Some folks rip on VZW because they are simple and easy regarding phones. I thought that I needed an unlocked phone, but didn't. I thought I would enjoy the iPhone, but didn't. In the end, all I wanted (and needed) was a simple clamshell phone, which I have found with the LG 8350 and Verizon. The local AT&T store offerings for clamshell phones ...

What is up with your attitude? Seeing that you seem to be so knowledgeable, why do professionals such as myself complain about this very subject? I'm not some little customer that just likes toys. VZW gets plenty of my money to help invest in new options. Get to stepping? Is that your answer to problems? Enough of me giving you a hard time. When will the curve be here?

I don't know about that one.. VZW did a pretty huge mistake when releasing the chocolate- even then new one (8550) sucks - Hm. I think that may be the only phone that just stops working.

You have to remember that several AT&T fanatics have some deep seeded issues of inferiority and therefore feel a need to lash out at VZW in an attempt to make themselves feel better about their own wireless service provider.
