If i sold my one week old enV on ebay and bought another verizon phone, would that violate my contract in any way? Or go against me for any reason?

Well, if you buy the replacement phone from Verizon or any of its affiliate stores (like Circuit City) you would have to pay full retail price for it and it would affect the date that you would be eligible for a new phone at a discounted price.

If you purchase the phone from anywhere else then the only issue you may have is an activation fee, I think its $35.

Hope that helps..

False...if you buy at full retail it would not extend his/her contract and would have no affect on his upgrade/NE2 date. It's simply just more expensive to buy at full retail.

If it's only one week old, why don't you just return it?

Tip for you if you do buy full retail. Corporate stores do not offer a mail in rebate if you purchase full retail. You can typically get a full retail phone cheaper at an indirect because they will give you the mail in rebate.

The rebate is not valid without the signing of a one or two year contract. It's printed on the rebate. If there are indirect locations giving out rebates without contracts, then they're illiterate, idiots, or don't mind assisting with fraud. Or a combination of the three.

I wish the VZW reps would get it together then because when I called and asked that very same question (private sale vs store purchase) I was told that if you purchase at full retail outside of your upgrade date it would afftect it.

This is interesting since I was purchasing the phone new at full retail from a verizon corp store I was told to call customer service and they would send me the link to the rebate form. Which they did and I got my rebate. There was no contract change nothing they told me it was because it was the phone compnay rebate not a verizon rebate?

As long as you activated the phone before you sold it there is no problem, if you did not activate it you will be charged for it if you got it with a 2yr contract. If you was with a 2yr and you dont activate it you will be charged the difference between the 2yr and 1yr cost of the phone and your contract will be changed to 1yr from the date you ordered it instead of the 2yr.
Also with it not being activated the person that buys it wont be able to use the phone because it will be locked to your account for activation.

but as long as you activated it you can sell it without any problem. The phone isnt really tied to the contract, just keeping the service for the duration of the contract.
