Verizon and thier lies...
I knew from reading peoples threads and replies on this website and many others the people know what is going on with companies, their policy's, and phones. That is why i don't understand why companies such as verizon lie to their customers...I called Verizon the other day and asked them about thier bluetooth phone the V710 and asked information about it such as what can it do, functions, capabilities and so on...They told me everything that it had to offer and must have read word for word what was on the web site...Then i asked them why is it that Verizon has stripped the Bluetooth capabilities of this ph...

And honestly, I'm still not seeing a retort or his actual statements...all you've got is "you spelled (word) wrong."

To address your point..yes, some of the "features" of this phone have been disabled by VZW. The most common reason that functions are disabled by the company is related to performance. The phone has these "features" offered by the manufacturer, who by the way just wants to sell the product. However the "features" likely didn't meet VZW specs in testing phases. Instead of holding the phone back completely the company decides to release the phone without all of the available "features" with the intention that the manufacturer will correct the "features" and provide a software upgrade. I tend to agree that maybe the phones shouldn't be released at all if they don't meet quality standards, however you would likely not

i have a friend who has the same exact argument and you sound just like him...
hmmmmm 😕
First, please understand that I am just a consumer, a Verizon Wireless subscriber who did his homework and chose an Audiovox CDM9900 instead of the Motorola V710, and am not employed in any way in the cellular industry.
While I understand your dissatisfaction with the Motorola V710's bluetooth capabilities when used in Verizon's network, I also feel that you may have entered into your twenty-one telephone conversations with a very large chip on your shoulder. If so, you probably received less-than-satisfactory responses.
I got that clue from your statement: "...I then called Motorola who i should have called before buying the phone and they told me that they were sorry on behalf of Verizon's pure selfishness to make m ...

It's not like people don't do it...I had a lady call in with an error on her bill and fixed it for her, no problem, nice as could be...suddenly she requests a sup to "complain" that i was swearing at the and abusing her and refusing to credit anything until she requested a sup.
I have no sympathy for this guy.
But you generated responses, which I'm assuming is all you intended to do in the first place. Way to go!
I agree the issue regarding the crippling is over but what remains is the knowledge base the reps are provided directly by VZW.
the thing is that i did a little research and called 3 times a day for 1 whole week and spoke to 21 different peopleThat's nearly as bad as the number of posts I make on this website. We all know that Verizon cripples their data offerings. It's old news. Quit your griping.
in his post he explains that the phone has been out since sept, but he was sold the phone anyway???
verizon salespeople go through all this training, if you all know verizon cripples their bluetooth phones, aren't they not being truthful when they sell them??

i think he is complaining about the employees acting all dumb about not knowing. how can they sell a bluetooth phone, giving the customer the expectations that it will work like a bluetooth phone?

I have a cell phone. I can make and receive calls. I can also take pictures and go on the web once in a while to check the news when I am bored, which is really cool. I bought a cell phone years ago so I could make phone calls when I am not at home. That's why I still have a cell phone today. Do I really need anything more? No. Did you people get along with bluetooth before there was such a thing? I think so.
Seriously. I completely agree with you. I think the bluetooth argument/CS reps not knowing is getting old and needs to be put to rest. If you folks really want bluetooth with all its functions...switch to a carrier that doesn't cripple their handsets. Why stay with VZW when ...

Additionally, you had 15 days to try the phone and return it.
At what point were you lied to?
There's a pretty big difference between getting a rep who doesn't know the difference between a phone with full bluetooth and limited bluetooth profiles and someone telling you complete fiction about the phone.

Bluetooth is basically a short range wireless network protocol, like the 80211.b found in many homes.
What on earth is Verizon trying to do by controlling the devices I have in my home, that have nothing to do with their CDMA network?
