Kudos to Verizon
I just wanted to post this as an in general kudos to Verizon, with just a few minor suggestions at the end.
I am an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT user to please when it comes to technology...I have been in the industry for years (not cellular but rather systems administration and just generally a geek) and I settle for nothing less than the perfect product in most cases with regards to technology and as most everyone here can attest to, there is no perfect phone; especially not in the area of phones I now use, smartphones.
I bought my first smartphone, a Treo 650 a few years ago, shortly after they came out and returned it as in my opinion it was a PDA and a wannabe phone. Then with Verizon I bought the 700W when it first came out and was then...

$15/month for the same PDA data plan I have with VZW for $45/month
I'm not going to get into coverage symantics and the like or unspoken limits, features like TV etc - I don't care...If I can get my email and surf the web for a flat $15 vs $45 I'd of course prefer to pay the $15 (but then I'd probably lose the customer service benefits I spoke of with VZW)...Just seems to me if Sprint can offer it for $15, so could VZW.

Sprint has to offer it for $15 because no one will use their service otherwise. If their coverage and customer service were as good as vzw's they would charge more.
I just wish verizon would have better package deals like sprint has..
Sprint: $30-for unlm data, blackberry serv, unlm text, nav, and sprint tv.
Vzw: This package would cost close to $60 a month with verizon...something needs to change. if Im already paying for unlimited, I feel like you should get a break on text messaging.

I agree. As we used to tell customers back in the day, "We can match price, but we'd have to shut off half our cell sites to do so." 😁

7+ years ago I would have agreed with that statement of coverage, today, not so much. Although I do recognize Verizon does have the best coverage (at least where I'm at in Oregon) I also see that it's not significant...It's in little nothing towns that you see verizon has better coverage than sprint, but in the metro areas it's the same coverage. And in the grand scheme of things would I trade subtracting $30+/month in my bill for the loss of the ability to get a good signal on the rare occassions that I'm out in the middle of nowhere, specifically in the small towns that verizon does cover that sprint doesn't?
