Just got my 6800 today. What would be the best way to get my contacts to it from my moto 815 (the best phone I have ever had to date). I know the 6800 does not have GIN and I do have all my contacts on back up assistant....any suggestions?

Take it to a store and pay the $15 for them to transfer them.

if you had moto back up, sync and then move to outlook and have the 6800 sync with outlook.

Outlook sync worked like a charm. I called and ask someone at the corp store if they could transfer and they said no???? Oh well.

The reason why they prob could not transfer is they might not have the newest machine since all the new PDA's now use bluetooth to transfer contacts the UME-24 (which most stores use) will not transfer, if they have the UME-36 and had the latest software update then it should work.

I had EXACTLY the same problem going from E815 to 6800...found out too late that the online Backup Assistant is incompatible going from Moto to 6800. Was told the store techs could migrate the contacts -- no go: they said they couldn't get it done, after thinking they could. So far, Outlook upload is the only answer... 😕

What I do for my customers is transfer all the contacts to a Motorola Q. Then transfer the contacts via bluetooth from the Q to the 6800. Then master clear the Q. It works like a charm. I'm at a direct location
