Is buying online any cheaper than buying a phone and service in a store? Or, are they the same? I plan to use a discount from my employer.
Thanks

In the store if you want the phone today - but for price sake if you get a discount from you job then you may want to go to the companies web site or - VZW for instant normal discount - if you go to the store they may honor the discount - 1st call the Customer svc & make sure - then call the store your self b4 you go down to confirm the price w/ you job - if you already know your discount then let the store know - your employer may have a better deal then to $50 mailin rebate - GET THE PHONEIT IS THE BEST FOR MANY REASONS --have fun 🙂

I read the other reply to your question and parts of I am not sure what they were saying.

Assuming you already have service with VZW:
If you have a discount through your employer the most cost effective way to get the phone is from your employers extranet site (that is the site your employer has set up for them by VZW for employees of that company to buy VZW service). Probably for you, Wal-Mart...just don't plan to walk into a retail location for help with activating it...

Go to a retail location...help a retail sales rep keep food on their table...

I agree with primus to some extent. If your employer has their own site use it. IF your starting new lline of service and they don't I would go thru vzw.com. Shipping and activation waived and mail in rebate for most is instant. I would still do vzw site 2nd for upgrade too. The only advantage to store is you get same day. Now store rep may haggle the price to get the commission but the also charge the $20 processing fee and the dreadful mir you have to remember to send off. Cust service has no processing fee but most of the time there is shipping and again you have to remember to submit rebate. I'm a forgetfull person and like the cheapest upfront. Don't mind waiting 2 days for shipping so I'll be going online for mine.
