Voyager = PERFECT

MidnightDT

Nov 14, 2007, 10:00 PM
Like many VZW employees I recently got to play with the voyager and I just wanted to add to the hype by saying it is PERFECT. the phone is beautiful, the touch screen is flawless, they keyboard is prefect, its just prefect

I wouldn't change one thing about it, its flawless.

I created a text message using the touch screen front and T9, As fast as i could touch the "keys" it recognized every press with zero hours and just the slightest vibration to let me know it was pressed.

the screen is so vibrant and the Vcast Mobile TV looks AWESOME on the big widescreen.

this phone if marketed correctly honestly should kill the iPhone.

Does the Voyager Multitask while playing the MP3 Player, that would be pretty cool if it does.

Not as perfectly as a Sony Ericsson phone would.

I have had the pleasure of using the phone in person like MidnightDT. (I know a Beta Tester)

The phone is honestly better than i thought it would be. But basically the phone is a touch screen EnVy. It's a lot smaller than the pic's make it look when i first saw it i was shocked at its size. I watch like 5 minutes of mobile tv on it too and i was very impressed. Overall the phone is cool but i don't think it's the i phone killer Verizon will make it out to be.

I-Phone comparrison

Pros
Verizons Evdo network(Duh)
Internal keybord (better for txt over I Phone)
Size( SMALLER THAN I PHONE)
Battery can be removed
Micro Sd Slot
Mobile Tv
VZW marketing

Cons
Size(Icons on touch are to small for fingers)
Not A world Phone

VZW Marketing is not a pro. When you're comparing VZW advertising to Apple advertising, Apple wins by a landslide.

The iPhone isn't a world phone either.

The price is the same.

The I-phone can be a world phone if really want it be(and money isnt an option). The Yoyager doesnt even have the ability to be one for the most part.

You are right about the marketing but i would rate them the same. Normally i would give Apple an edge but just the way they announced the Voyager, Pearl, and Venus was differnt for them. I really think their going to step up their advertising for the Voyager.

The iPhone has the years of hype of the iPod behind it. Sorry, but VZW's marketing is nowhere close to Apple with the iPhone.

Battery life is real ****ty
NO 3Rd party apps (VZW loves control)
Price(atleast $250-$300 with no SD Card)
LG has bad Touch history(VX8500 Chocolate)
Not made by Apple(No Fanboy Love)

Im not sure I agree with you on most of these points.

Size: it seemed perfect size to me and I had absolutely no issue with the touch screen icons

world phone: true but a very small percentage of the population travels out of NA

Battery Life: extended batter?

No 3rd party apps: get it now sells tons of 3rd party apps doesn't it? this is not a PDA so it is sort of limited in what you can do.

Price: little expensive but fo...

I have to agree with the marketing statement. I hope that we market this phone hard. We had multiple commercials for the Juke and the Chocolate. This phone blows them out the water!

add threaded text messaging and this phone would be awesome...prolly the only minor oversight I could find with the phone.

Everything else seems pretty slick.

The battery sucks big time. (you forgot to mention that)
And the touch screen is not as reliable as that on the iPhone. Too many errors (the screen doesn't always register the commands) Sorry, but if you waited for this thing to be the 'iPhone killer' you're very wrong. Even the Prada aka the LG VU will be more reliable than this CDMA pos!

You mean, aspects? And yes, I did try it. Nice, but no iPhone killer. There won't be anyone lining up outside any of your stores for it either. It's just another phone. Does it come with another battery? If it does, then I might give it a 7 (of 10)
I rather have a Tilt, or a Curve any day! Oh, btw, call quality and volume were great. I'll give you that.

I can't agree with you 100% there. Some stores will have lines, but stores like mine won't. We've been filling out manual contracts ahead of time. Also, we've made imprints of credit cards or we sold gift cards in the exact amount of the phone (and accessories) cost plus tax. So far we have about 30 stored inside of a folder inside our safe. So yah, no line is necessary when you do that...

I know all the employees want one of these things. If it is marketed as much as the Iphone, it will have much more sales.

Those are data devices. This is a consumer device with a robust internet experience and unique touch screen. The vibration feedback will be key. Furthermore, the reason why you don't like the phone is the same reason people complain abut the iphone...the touch screen. That's why the voyager steps the game up with a qwerty keyboard that WE ALL KNOW WORKS WELL.

Nice try at being a hater though.

there probably wont be as many people lined up because it hasnt been marketed on TV and it wasnt shown online and in news media for 6 months before it came out.

Plus most people who really want it have already pre-ordered it.

as for call quality ofcourse they were great, this is verizon wireless 🤣

It doesn't really matter. The Voyager will prevent people from leaving Verizon for the iPhone. That's all it needs to do. I don't see this thing getting more market share than the iPhone because it's not made by Apple.

Valid points. But this phone will appeal to more people than just Apple fans. People of all ages will enjoy this phone. I think it has a chance to beat the Iphone in market share. Do you see alot of Kids walking around with the iphone? How many do you think will get the voyager?

AT&T doesn't work where I live so I don't see anybody walking around with the iPhone.

Apple has a built in audience. They've been doing really well over the last few years, and they released their first cell phone at the right time. There won't be people lining up for the Voyager like there were for the iPhone. The media is not going crazy over the Voyager. The Voyager is not going to sell a million units in the same time that the iPhone did.

I'm not saying that the Voyager won't do well. That remains to be seen. If you ask me, people won't want to pay the money for it. It could very well end up being more popular than the 9900 though. We'll see.

Maybe. Parents are willing to spend a little extra money on a phone for their kids to give them the one they want. It might be different when they find out it will be an extra $15/month.

You have never used the phone, so you have no idea what you are talking about.
You are anti-CDMA and almost every post you make regarding anything CDMA is a lie because you are a bad person.

The battery life for this phone is rated at 240 mins talk time and 480 hours of standby.. to put it in a way you might understand, that is very good for a 3G phone.

As for an "iphone killer" some people are making that claim because this is a much better phone than the iphone. The iphone on the other hand is a much better ipod than the voyager, as the voyage is not an ipod.

It won't be an iPhone killer. It's just an answer to the iPhone. Nothing will kill the iPhone because it's made by Apple.

Of course Iphone will sell more but atleast 25% of the sales are unlocked/ebay. So a more accurate comparison would be... How many Voyagers will be sold in comparison to the number of Active Iphones on AT&T's network? How many people will jump ship from their carrier to come to Verizon for this phone? I myself will pick up a Voyager as soon as Employee Acct will let me, but I doubt it will be Super-Seller unless a sale on it knocks the price down. Web/Mobile TV/E-mail/TXT & PIX/VZ Nav and touchscreen... looks awesome on paper huh?

I think the biggest thing to look at is the profit VZW makes off of each voyager compaired to how much AT&T makes off each iphone ;) As VZW doesnt have to pay LG each month to have a customer own one ;)
